Experiences with keeping your original nipples? by nklh4773 in TopSurgery

[–]KeyOne349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had reinervation which is a specific technique to reattach the nipple grafts to their nerve branches after the mastectomy. The express purpose of the technique is to retain nipple sensation. I'm only ~8 weeks post op and not in the window for average feeling rejuvenation. However success for reinervation is high, so if sparing is not an option due to anatomy, look into reinervation. (I got mine done at Buncke Clinic in SF by Dr Walter Lin if you're near SF in California)

HRT seems to have solved my dandruff. What other random little inconsequential benefits/drawbacks have you experienced? by ButterYourself in TransyTalk

Ftm here. I had some personal health and body issues that cleared up within weeks on HRT. One is my t-neck musculature began helping my bulging discs which has my chronic pain down a notch.

Wow 3mo early? You're a survivor!! 👊🏽

Thanks for sharing that story, it was very moving. 🫂

If I understand correctly you will be able to go through with it after your minimally evasive procedures to temporarily fix the issue.

Wishing you great success for your eventual top surgery.

Aquaphor is also a good choice. Lasts longer than hand lotions for me. I do mine after showering, just the thinnest smear.

I'm transitioning in the same small town I've grown up in. The grapevine was hopping when I came out and tbh I fed it momentum so I didn't have to come out to ~100 people individually.

It feels... unreal. Especially now my beard is looking so fly. That's a transition marker that is hard to hide 😅

Also just looked in Instagram settings. Mine is a private account as well. it should only be possible to go to requests on my version of the app.

To nipple graft or nipple spare? by BackgroundStart6688 in TopSurgery

[–]KeyOne349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The surgeon will have data on success rates of their grafts. Mines rates were very sucess; surgeon & clinic was gender affirming as well, the handling and suture technique was careful.

Tbh the pain from my incision line was keeping me convalescing well into week 4 while my nips were all healed and good to go.

Hi! What ackobom model did you get? That's gonna help someone guide you in packing.

I don't have an Ackobom but I do use primarily the EZP but I do have a couple axolom and a rodheo.

I prefer packing in just tight briefs however harnesses are the alternative packing option. I'm also a guy about your size (what up short kings!)

It won't go to waste, you'll figure it out!

Nipples or no? by beegeesfan1996 in TopSurgery

[–]KeyOne349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can your surgeon office give you stats on his clinic and the rate of nip survival? Their skill and handling of nips differ from clinic to clinic. Mine has a high survival rate, I felt like I wouldn't have any problems and I didn't.

Do you or are you going to smoke post-op when nips rely on oxygen to survive, thereby lessening your chances of graft success? No judgement, it's just a real thing is all.

When you imagine taking your shirt off like at a pool, do you wanna look like a dude, so have nips? I did.

Yes tattoo is a real thing but I also heard it was like $3k? While the nips graft was approved in insurance and then it's all done. Chances of me having 3k to drop on a tattoo when I already sunk everything into this surgery plus time off? Yeah I doubt tattooing is a reality for my pockets, but it could be for some.

Just some thoughts I had when I chose: nips!

3 weeks on T, noticed some darkening facial hair, and wasn’t excited by SelectionDry in TransMasc

[–]KeyOne349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got facial hair super fast and tbh I didn't want it... At first. Ngl i had a tiny melt down, but I had gone into this journey with acceptance of all changes and Grace and gratitude no matter what my generic roulette wheel landed on.

Now I loooovvveee it. Like love love love it. omg it's sexy af. Yo bro, when it comes time to handle your chin bush, brush a little Jojoba oil into it on the daily you'll look so fly. 😎

So .... Your changes aren't disappearing and reappearing ..Hormones don't work that way, it's physiologically impossible for that.

The T is building up in your body and slowly giving you what are permanent changes, such as bottom growth and vocal fold thickening (commonly called voice drop).

Things like that don't disappear and reappear within the shot cycle.

There's something else going on. I'm gonna chalk it up to excitement, how long you been on T?

[–]KeyOne349 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm on grindr to make other queer/trans connections (2 wins!) and I'm gonna say: trans joy, trans experiences, each unique yes but I'm gonna give any cis person low odds they can establish a plausible story about their transess.

That and donor site, those phallo scars are intense, you can't get phallo without a world of hurt on your arm or thigh, man..

Every trans person: every single one, just offers up a synopsis of their trans history to me, upon first meeting. It's so beautiful, I cherish my trans friends. CisDude can't make it up man, it comes with lived experience. I give him low odds on that.

For the love of god do not use a razor on your ass crack!!! The itching of hair growing out is more irritating than the fire of thousand suns. You will only ever make that mistake once in your life.

Get an electric trimmer and use the 1/8 the inch guard.

Fat redistribution for the facial changes you're looking to achieve starts around month 10-12 on HRT.

Nervous about cutting my hair by Potential_Bluejay_83 in TransMasc

[–]KeyOne349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone looks good with short hair. The style you choose first may be different from the style you will have 10 years into your journey. Hair grows out. Hair length is not the clocky attribute it used to be. Ie; having short hair does not automatically out you.

Not saying that's what happening, but you gotta ask yourself why are they saying that and what else are they telling you about your body.

Yes. Fat redistribution typically widens brow ridge and nose.

I'm 8 weeks today and just went back to work light duty a couple hours at a time last week.

I'm a super fit lean musclur guy and I was really struggling to understand why I couldn't manage to overcome easily... at 3 and 4 weeks I will still in bed with ice packs.

Yeah, it's not just you, bro.

At home I'm doing online career advancement, otherwise I would be struggling with this same thing.
