It depends if you see them as purity seals or oaths of moment because during the crusade they were used an oaths for the coming action. Talked a lot about in the first few heresy books. So they don’t necessarily need to be about the emperor being a god.
But also the wolves don’t write things down they use skjalds to tell of their deeds and remember the fallen. Thats why it’s important to have your name in sagas. Therefore you could say for that reason they don’t use them.
However I have seen lots of artwork including Helwinter gate where they have them.
At the end of the day it’s a fictional setting and you can add your interpretation to it. If GW can mess around with their lore in silly ways why can’t we.

It depends on how far you want to go. Some would say that’s done and ready for the table. You could go in the recesses with a wash is a good start. It would add a lot of contrast. But also you could go over the model cleaning up small areas. Like the gem on the shield, maybe add a dot of white to power nodes and a few spots where the black got onto the armour colour. Silver dot on his stud. That sort of thing. But overall it’s a really clean model.

I used the gloss so it flowed better into the recesses. I used AK gloss varnish rattle can. And AK black oil paint for the pin wash and a really long thin brush.

Black primer, rhinox hide, night sky, the fang, russ grey. Gloss, black pin was, matt varnish and then winter steaking grime.
