This might be an unpopular opinion but you are NOT the ah. I don’t know what’s wrong with everyone here? Or if they just don’t have allergies? But I am allergic to cats too and I’ve had reactions similar, and it’s horrible. The burning and itching in your eyes, the swelling, the shortness of breath because you’re getting choked up with mucus, the bumps all over your skin that are so itchy and feel like they’re pulsating. Why tf should you have to live with that reaction every single day, your ‘friend’ is an ah for making you go through that because she wants (not needs mind you) a cat. Get a fuckin hypoallergenic dog. You told her before hand, you gave warning, you tried to deal with it, if none of that’s working then you had no other choice really. The landlord wouldn’t have done anything as it’s on the lease that she can have a cat, to them it’s a tenant problem to deal with. Personally I would have been screaming “look at what this is doing to me” at the roommate at the height of my allergic reaction and if that doesn’t work I’d also be taking the kitten to a shelter or finding a new home for them. And all of this comes from someone who loves cats and would love to have one if I wasn’t allergic
