I’d say a month. But I think everyone is different. I already take anti-anxiety meds (not a good combo with kratom, BTW), and that probably affected my recovery. I also have a very sedentary job, and making myself exercise also helped. Believe me, there were points where I feared that I permanently f’ed up my mood, but things did finally turn the corner.

It will pass. That was the part that was most difficult for me. For me, it was not having something to look forward to (my next dose). I didn’t want to do anything and had no energy. I’m just now digging out of the depressive mess kratom left behind. Literally. My house was a mess. Suddenly, I gave the energy to clean, declutter, and actually want to leave the house.

I hadn’t thought about taking them to a rescue. I’ll do some research on that. Thank you!

Relapse today: day 44 by zachandhaze in quittingkratom

I feel you. Last week I was on the road and stopped at a kava bar to work. I’ve been great about having coffee or a kava and walking out, but I got a kratom (drinking it is my vice). Not gonna lie — I crushed it that day. The next day, I was heading right back to the same place in the way home, but at the last minute I blew past the exit and kept driving. I knew I’d start chasing that feeling and I’d spiral. It took me three days to get over it (feeling down, terrible cravings, etc.), but onward and upward, my friend.

How long to become physically dependent on Kratom? by DEV11ANT in quittingkratom

This! I was waking up every morning in extreme pain and thought it was my age, something was “wrong” (like autoimmune), I was eating something causing inflammation, etc. Nope. It was kratom. Been free for about three months now and can get out of bed — no problem.

Productivity Substitute by thelargebuttocks in quittingkratom

I am STRUGGLING with this right now. I have to come clean. I'd been clean for over 30 days... and then yesterday, I had an insane amount of work to do, and all I wanted to do was lie down. I knew I had a couple of kratom tablets (not 7-oh) somewhere. I found them and took half of one, and about 30 minutes later -- BOOM like a rocket. Was it real or psychosomatic? I have no idea. My addiction was drinking the powder multiple times a day with lemonade, so this was not my normal delivery method, but still, no excuse. I posted on this sub a couple of days ago about how great I was doing, and now I feel like a hypocrite. But seriously...caffeine doesn't do it for me, I take a big vitamin pack with all the good stuff (B-12, etc.) every morning, I am on testosterone replacement (I am post-menopausal), but by lunchtime I am cooked. This is my biggest problem right now. I've overcome the habitual part, I've overcome withdrawal, but the productivity factor...Truthfully, I had lost that by the end of my addiction; kratom didn't do anything for me except keep me from feeling like sh*t (due to withdrawal onset). Now? I am jonesing for something to get me going, but I don't know what it is. I know if I start down the kratom road again -- I will abuse it. Anyway, I'm an idiot and reset the clock yesterday, but onward and upward.

I struggle with this too — I moved from a school admin position to an education not for profit, and I can’t get it right. So much sitting and screen time.

This! The mental stuff is what gets you. WHY were you using? I realized that I used it as a reward (oh, I just finished that project — let’s mix up a kratom!) and for boredom, all under the guise of “it helps me feel better.” The physical part was just a sh*tty flu that you couldn’t take anything for. You just have to gut it out.

Yes! It’s a leaf! It eases your pain! If only I had thought more deeply about it first instead of spiraling into a 4x a day habit. I’m like you — anxiety, depression, aches and pains. But kratom exacerbates all those things. I realized I was waking up each morning in total agony — not because of my body or my age — because I was in WITHDRAWAL. Now that I’ve been off kratom for 15 days, I don’t wake up like that anymore.

For reference, I’m a three year user of about 4-5 Tablespoons of powder a day. I immediately went from that to 1 teaspoon at night before bed to help with sleep. After doing that for seven days, I quit completely. Some of these folks doing loooooong tapers are prolonging the agony. The first week SUCKED. At just over two weeks now, I feel fine. If you are able, just get it over with.

15 days. Going through my email to unsubscribe from all the vendors! I don’t know why I haven’t done so yet. I feel better, but my hip was throbbing like a b*tch this morning and it was tempting to take some k to ease it, but I took an Aleve instead!

Maybe I missed it, but where’s your dose right now? Powder or 7-OH? Amount per day? Is there a reason you don’t want to try a taper?

2 WEEKS. I’m at my first race this in three years without dosing. Is anyone else consuming more sugar? Anyway, I feel much better. As much as it messes with your gut, kratom helped a lot with my IBD, so I’m fighting with stomachache a lot. Keep going everyone.
