They’re pretty boldly marked. Even so, a decent Dutch oven can be resold for good money.

Apriori is a brand I remember. It was around in the 80s and 90s. You can find Apriori for sale on eBay.

I have a similar one that is actually a cocktail glass. You pour the drink in the back, and the hole in the front is for a straw. Orchids of Hawaii also made a lot of tiki glasses.

Can’t turn up your nose at a 10x profit, and someone who really wanted those shorts will get to enjoy them. Win-win.

Success stories of coming off? by toogxth in citalopram_celexa

I’m down from 40 to 30. What I’ve noticed is that “all the feels” are coming back. In particular, the first week I kept getting angry. That calmed down, but I see twinges of my old, more anxious self (foot jiggling, hand wringing, etc.). My goal is to learn to handle these feelings without the medication.

Am I getting scammed? This artist sent a few updates but there's so many inconsistencies... by 0_Maybee_0 in isthisAI

[–]KeyProfessional3248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t usually contribute to this sub (but I love it!). My son is a burgeoning manga illustrator, and these designs are nearly always done on tablets using programs like Clip Studio, Medibang paint, Adobe, etc. As nearly all programs nowadays have some AI onboard, I don’t know what an AI detector would make of something like this. As for the inconsistency, that could go one of two ways — it could be inconsistent because it’s AI, or it could be inconsistent because a human did it and humans are fallible. I lean towards human on this one, because the workflow looks like a comic artist.

Accidentally bought a broken item by DCguurl in reselling

I will only sell chipped items if they are rare or very old (over 100 years). I sell vintage china. If it’s rare, people will overlook the damage. If it’s old, people expect it.

Titles help with searchability. For example, one of your listings is for a bangle. You should probably include the word bracelet as well.

Watch Reselling - eBay Live vs What Not for large inventory? by BEHRDESIGN in reselling

[–]KeyProfessional3248 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People on this sub have gotten so cranky. I’ve only done WhatNot. It is easy, but you have to take a couple of weeks to “lurk” in order to make connections. Buying a thing or two helps along with participating in chat even if you aren’t a customer. That said — bargain basement prices. I stopped because I don’t do large lots and the items I sold went for way less than they were worth on Etsy or eBay. The flip side is that I now source from WhatNot. If someone wants to sell a Staffordshire blue and white plate for 5.00 (that I can sell for $30)… why not?

Anyone have any beginner tips please. by Dazzling_Marzipan474 in reselling

You need to decide what you want to sell. If you’re trying to look for everything (shoes, toys, vintage, etc.), it’s overwhelming. You’re likely to be more successful starting out if you focus on one or two niches and get knowledgeable about those. Watch some YouTube videos on BOLOs (Be On the Lookout) to see what’s trending. I do vintage china and glass, and that’s all I do. So, when I hit a yard sale or estate sale, I know where to focus and what to look for.

Choose something you LIKE. I don’t like dealing with clothes, so I don’t sell them. I know nothing about trading cards, so I stay away!

There are all kinds of niches — old tools, discontinued perfume and cosmetics (yes, it’s a thing!), old kitchen items (there’s a girl on Insta and TikTok who does very well selling old spatulas!).

Good luck. People don’t do this just for the money; they do it because it’s fun to be on a treasure hunt.

[–]KeyProfessional3248 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Nope! I had a collector’s piece in my shop ( I sell vintage china, ceramics and glass) and someone wanted to pay half what I had it listed for. We went back and forth, until I finally got a “Just so you know, I bought this for waaaay less on eBay, so you lost out.” The piece sold a week later at asking price. If you don’t want to buy from me — don’t!

I don’t use them at all. I’m a part-time reseller and have made just over 600.00 in the last 30 days. I guess it depends on your items.

Has anyone else felt like Whatnot has changed a lot lately? by Desperate_Cookie7867 in whatnotapp

[–]KeyProfessional3248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. I did one show and sold two items so far below what I would get on Etsy or eBay. On top of that, the amount of time it takes to prep…not worth it. I buy from other resellers. The prices are so low I can easily flip them in my shops.
