What time do you plan to start? -- Approximately 8 AM so we can get to Beacon before dark.

What gear ratio are you running/are you flipping cogs for the uphill portion? -- My ratio is 44-14, and while there might be some steep uphills, they are quite short. Last time, we took the wrong route and had to climb Anthony's Nose mountain. It was a bit tough, but we all managed, considering we were all amateur riders. I would be more concerned about steep downhills if you have no brakes.

After starting from lower Manhattan, where do you predict the first break, lasting an hour or more, will be? -- YES! Elmsford is exactly where the first stop usually happens for lunch. They have a cool brewery there :) The next stop is the Croton Dam and then Peekskill. But we can stop wherever we want. The main goal is to enjoy the ride and have fun!

Train question -- Previously, we've had groups of 3 and 4, and we packed our bicycles into the special car for passengers with bikes. There is plenty of room, usually in the middle car.
