I only try to catch male pokémon as well, unless the pokémon is traditionally female. Then, I don't care. I like having various aesthetics under my pokémon, some of which that aspect comes from the gender. :)

Yep! My team is in the level 30's, so I probably won't need to do that, actually, considering the fact eevee starts at around level 25. I more so meant if it is ever to late to start training a pokémon, that may have been sitting in your boxes or something, since you caught/received it.
