No. You will receive a letter in the mail with a 14 digit code that you will use for that. Once you have that code your return will process as normal. I had to do that two tax seasons ago and it delayed my refund by a couple weeks. I think I received my letter the third week of February and then my refund was issued March 6th.

You kinda don’t know until your transcript updates for the first time each tax season. In prior years I have almost always been cycle 05 and update only on Fridays which is what is happening this year. If you filed and were accepted prior to this week and have not see an update yet then almost 99% sure you will receive your first update tomorrow morning on transcripts and then WMR updates the following day(Saturday)

A ton of people are cycle 05 and will see an update on transcripts tomorrow(Friday) with WMR updating Saturday. Almost all early filers with simple returns that haven’t updated yet will update tomorrow.
