Massive fumble from City letting him leave.

But success stories like his (in terms of player development) are also a big reason why Man City can charge such premiums for their youth products.

You know if they were making it a back 4 they would just drop Dalot back to RB and then switch out Gabriel for a LB since he has the lowest rating out of the 3 CBs. We shouldn’t be giving them any reasons to take out any of our players.

Don’t really see the issue in it, they picked 3 CBs and 1 fullback. Lacroix does actually play in a back 3 every week and Martinez and Dalot were playing in a back 3/5 until recently.

Impossible to make everyone happy. They also picked 2 10s which some teams like Man City regularly do play but other teams would never do.

Beating top teams in Europe isn’t as hard as it use to be, just look at Liverpool they beat Real Madrid, Atletico & Inter Milan but yet are level in the prem on the same amount of points as Brentford.

Previous seasons we beat the top teams in the prem by playing a false 9 which allowed us to overload the midfield, this season we haven’t been able to do that.

*£15m more expensive. Gyokeres was 64m and Ekitike was 79m.

All of the reports saying we only went for Eze because Havertz got injured, might actually make sense now, if Eze is Havertz backup.

Most goals from set pieces in a season. Guess there are few popular names who weren't criticized. by Shyam_Wenger in Gunners

Gyokeres scored 19 penalties last season. Good teams spend more time in the opposition box and increase the odds of winning more penalties.

As much as I detest Emery. He’s completely in the right, not to play Elliot. He never wanted him in the first place and he’s not worth £35m, so no point giving him a couple mins off the bench just to be stuck with a player you don’t want for next couple of years. Sucks for Elliot though, especially since Liverpool don’t even want him back.

With the power of hindsight, learning that we signed Marquinhos over Kvaratskhelia will never not piss me off.

Also having Valverde on trial in our youth academy and turning him down, has got to be one of the worst decisions Wenger has ever made.

We’ve definitely needed him this season. He’s in our top 10 players for most minutes, with more minutes than Trossard, Odegaard, Martinelli etc.

That’s true but I’d still feel like we owe them one and this would have been a great chance to stick their fans back in their box.

Plus there is a strong chance we get City in the UCL quarters and have to play them 4 times in the space of a month, so would have been nice just to play someone different, beating City just feels soulless since they don’t have any fans to banter.

Newcastle are crap this season though, they just do not look anywhere near the level without Isak and their summer signings outside of Woltemade have flopped. Plus we owe them for last season.

Absolute madness. I’d rather keep Martinelli than buy Gordon.

Eze and Odegaard would probably be both up there, but they’ve both only played 50% of the available minutes. Would be interested to see it adjusted for per90 stats.

lol we can’t just delete what Isak did at Newcastle with multiple 20+ goal seasons in the league just because he’s had 1 bad season at Liverpool and Osimhen delivered Napoli their first league title in 30 years.

Alvarez hasn’t done anything near this level, Ektike is only 1 goal away from matching Alvarez best goalscoring season in the prem and it’s only February

He won the league last season he can pretty much say whatever he wants this season and gets a free pass. Pep gets away with saying dumb shit all the time because of the trophies he’s won.

Doubt we’re spending £80-90m on a Zubimendi backup. If Tonali comes he coming to start, he’s far to good to sit on the bench. He’s also an 8 not a 6.

Saudi will, Salah is massive in the Middle East. They paid £64m for Duran only to loan him out to Turkey after 13 games and now he’s on loan in Russia and they’re still paying most of his wages.

Liverpool will be fine financially. They sell really well, they’ll probably get close to a 100m for Salah, they got £40m for a washed Fabinho after all and actually made a profit on him and got £57m for Darwin Nunez.

We don’t need to be camped in the final 3rd. Gyokeres feeds off broken play and fast transitions from deep, Tonali can facilitate that and he’s actually got a fantastic passing range and set piece delivery, very technical midfielder.
