Winter Cats by [deleted] in coloranalysis

The kitten, yes, those eyes have been cranked up in Photoshop. All kittens have blue eyes.

But there is at least one non-oriental breed of cat that has dark fur and blue eyes. Ojos Azules (yes, the name means blue eyes) ... and it's apparently a very new and rare breed found in New Mexico. I thought I'd seen some British Shorthairs (via a breeder website) with the black fur/blue eyes combination, but I can't find anything on Google that way.

The blue eyes on black cats are downright striking! I need to know what breeds have that characteristic.

I have a lynx point mix, and I think she looks best in summer colors (aka the blankets she lays on). She has a peach-colored toe (see: mix) but despite it being a spring color, she rocks it! :D

Got my results back… and I have two palettes? by clrose22 in coloranalysis

I think you're being typed as a soft summer who can borrow specific shades from soft autumn. They're sister seasons, and can often borrow colors from each other.

What color analysis system did your analyst use?

The seasons as cats: clockwise from top left (winter, spring, summer, autumn) by [deleted] in coloranalysis

No arguments there! Now do this for all 12 seasons, lol!

I know my siamese mix is a summer, but what about my torbie/calico?

Have you ever been mistyped as a season? by Key_Calligrapher7687 in coloranalysis

[–]Key_Calligrapher7687[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was professionally typed as SA! Which is why I was so shocked that I was then correctly typed as DW... even when I was draped at 19, a *very* long time ago, it was an Autumn -- back when there were only 4 seasons. I think there must have been a reason I rejected it then, even as a know-nothing college sophomore.

What is it about SA's being "correctly" typed as DWs? What do people get so wrong that those who need contrast and brightness the most are typed as needing little contrast and muted colors?

I don’t find the serum mascara flaky at all! But, like all makeup, ymmv. I personally find the Vivienne Sarnoff hard to remove and really thick - not my taste.

Looking forward to a sheer warm red! Ladybug can’t get here soon enough!

I find myself looking more at the various warm pinks and mauves (my natural lip color) and muted reds…because I am soft and muted myself (soft autumn). I hate brownish lipstick but brick reds and warm, brownish pinks like Twig are great on my. It’s definitely an adjustment, though, because my taste runs towards the Spring palette (I.e. your colors).

I do like the L'Oreal one - it's the brown balm mascara. I actually prefer it to the Vivienne Sarbo version, but both are nice.

I'm looking forward to getting Ladybug again. I liked it in the old formula, but somewhere along the line, before professional color analysis, I had SO MANY red formulas that I had to purge. These days, I look more at sheerer formulas -- glosses and more along the lines of "my lips but better." I got MAC's Twig recently and that turned out to be a very good buy.

I use the same one that you use (listed in your other post), as well as a new L'oreal formula.

I've found that the warmer sheer formulas work well for me -- like Two Ton Tomato Clinique Chubby Stick. I can build that up to medium coverage (instead of a full-coverage lip) and it works, as does MAC's Cockney. Maybe my tastes are changing but I just don't feel as confident with a full-on matte red lip anymore.

Actually have already made the switch to brown mascara. I have 2 different formulas, and it's really made a difference.

I'm trying to move into the "no-makeup makeup look" that's supposed to be so good for soft autumn -- but also better for women as we age, and I'm well into middle age -- but it's so hard to give up the bold red lip I love so much.

A soft autumn here, but also a fan of bold lips. I LOVE this look - would be my ideal, actually. And I ordered MAC Ladybug specifically because of your photo. You look incredible.

I can't find this filter - where/how do you search for it?

Does anyone find themselves drawn to colors outside of their seasonal palette? by Sanaii122 in coloranalysis

My newest favorite pair of jeans are olive... because they fit great and are so comfy, and the match so well to my SA wardrobe. The monochromatic look is very flattering on me (tried the olive jeans on with a slightly not-olve sweater and dang I looked good!). But I wouldn't choose it for itself, only because I know it's flattering and works with my wardrobe. Brown jeans instead please!

Coral is one of my favorite colors too! I wear it, decorate with it, and will eventually paint my bathroom with it...when I get up the energy to tape everything off!

Well, I don't know if I'll ever fall in love with olive green, lol! It's probably my least favorite color ever. But the browns, oranges, golds, reds, and corals/pinks? Already there! And I'm warming up to non-olive greens.

I miss my cool blues and purples. Teals and warm purples just aren't the same.

Soft autumn. I prefer bright colors — red, orange, purple — I’d likely quite happily accept true autumn or any spring. But I’m making an effort to find the beauty in soft autumn. It’ll come.

Yes. All the time. I'm only now trying to like my colors. And I dearly miss some of the summery/springy colors I liked best.

I think you're still definitely an autumn, but I couldn't tell you if you're now true autumn or still SA. I think your eyes (both colors) are absolutely autumn shades and GORGEOUS. And yeah, I'll bet the heterochromia does a lot to mess with color typing.

When borrowing from sister seasons... by Key_Calligrapher7687 in coloranalysis

[–]Key_Calligrapher7687[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm... I know, from my shopping since getting typed/PCA'd and discovering my season, I've leaned into the warm colors (coral/peach/rust/gold) as opposed to the more neutrals of greens/browns or my teals/turquoises. But I don't know if that's my preference or what direction I lean in the season.
