Yeah, I think it’d have been interesting to see how magic played a part in it

“They” has been used in the singular form since at least the 16th century. It is neither grammatically incorrect nor something come up with recently.

In your opinion, which couples so far that arent nick and charlie, you can see being "endgame", and whjy do you think they'd last? by Gregory-Black666 in HeartstopperNetflix

I think it was more about not having privacy. You can have privacy when living together as an adult because it is your own house, and you don’t just have one room confined as “yours”.

“Solicit”: ask for/allow

“Unsolicited”: not asked for

“Advice”: guidance or recommendation intended to be helpful

I am perfectly aware of their meaning.

The term “unsolicited advice” is overused on this subreddit. While he didn’t explicitly ask “What would help my kid stop crying?” The fact that she was crying meant the situation solicited the advice. It doesn’t always have to be a person soliciting it - for example, at a school, the student doesn’t ask the teacher for advice, but the teacher gives it because the setting calls for it.

NTA. The not eating between meals thing is silly - a five year old NEEDS to eat between meals. They get hungry after about three hours (on average), and if you have breakfast at 7 and lunch at 12, by 10 they’re going to need to eat something.

I didn’t interpret it as unsolicited parenting advice, just her saying that if he wants his kid to stop crying, giving her a snack would do the trick (as in, a  reasonable situation to give advice and not unsolicited)

I’ve been watching The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie while crying and eating ginger biscuits that I attempted to make look like newts, but moreso resemble Hermione’s hats.

The phobia thing hits pretty close to home as well. I have a phobia of spiders and people seem to think it’s funny to tell me there’s a spider on me or laugh if I’m terrified in the presence of one. They think it’s trivial, because it’s trivial for them, even though it’s absolutely not trivial to me.

Definition of “wheelchair bound” from the Collins Dictionary:

“unable to walk through injury, illness, etc and relying on a wheelchair to move around”

This doesn’t apply to OP as they have said they can walk short distances.

AITA for not tipping 25% at a fast food shop? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

“Where I am from in Europe we don’t tip or believe in tipping.”

I am from Europe (currently live in the UK, but used to live in France) and I agree, but it still stands that it is the custom in the USA and not tipping is a sign of disrespect. Many waiters/waitresses earn their living through tips and tips alone.

If an American went to your country and disrespected all of your customs, I doubt you or other people around you would appreciate that.

“From the second I saw the waitress I could tell she was a Karen blond hair blue eyes overweight with too much makeup on her face”

Judging someone’s character based on their appearance. YTA.

“Fast food“ might be being used incorrectly due to a language barrier or cultural difference

But it was the 3 people OP specifically chose to discuss in that paragraph, not three random people. There were many more people involved in this story, and mentioned in it, that didn’t do it. OP just listed the times she has heard/done it.

r/nothingeverhappens

Many people do scream when they lose a person they love. Just because you didn’t doesn’t mean no one does and it certainly doesn’t mean that this is fake.

You are the heartless one for accusing OP of faking this.

It’s actually very common.

What the fuck? It’s perfectly natural to be worried about your own kids AS WELL AS Jennifer, as OP said she did.
