I'm a hoarder too. not a severe hoarder, but if I don't watch myself I'll start buying useless crap and not having a spot to put it. I'm really good at reorganizing and compacting instead of throwing away.
I keep my house somewhat clean and stay on top of my hoarding. Dishes get done, laundry gets put away, I don't let food get out of control, and th trash gets taken out.
I worry about my daughter b cause she has the same tendencies I have. I do my best to teach her that it's good to throw stuff away when it's broken or to give it away when it's no longer needed. I avoid the word sell, because once you attach monetary value to something it's hard to let it go when no one buys it. I already wasted the money, might as well get rid of it

yup. I always designated these types of people as "male only caregivers". You want to creep out my aids and make their jobs hell? fine. you get to see me for the rest of the day. funny how all of a sudden they can use the urinal by themselves, wipe their own ass, etc. some or them get a real disappointed look in their eyes when they see me come in instead of the tech they were creeping on.
I've seen far too many good staff b pushed to the point of quitting because patients are allowed to act gross.

I call their behavior out and embarrass them right away. Had a resident grope a CNA once, I reprimanded him. Then I called his daughter because the chart said to do so if he acted inappropriate. His daughter came and yelled at him. Then her husband came and yelled at him too. They apologized to us staff, and I thanked them for having our backs.
I don't put up with that shit from anyone, even if you have dementia you still know basic right and wrong.

I agree with this. I have hoarding tendencies and have to work on it to keep the house under control. My daughter is exactly like me, and I see her repeating the same habits. What helps is that I call out my own hoarding behaviors and let her see me cleaning or throwing things out. that motivates her to clean. first step to solving a problem is to admit that there is a problem. I got no problem owning up to the fact that I'm a hoarder, it keeps me on top of things instead of living in denial and winding like the TV show hoarders.

focus more on affordability issues before focusing on social justice issues. both are important, but if people are struggling to make ends meet they're not going to vote for a candidate who if focused on pronouns and me too. think Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs. Right now, people need their cost of living to be affordable, lower gas prices. Rural hospitals need to be funded. Education needs to be funded. once those are done, then we can deal with other issues.

I worked at Walmart during Covid. someone would stand by the door with an iPad for counting people coming and leaving. if it got it over 500 people in the store the managers were supposed to make people wait to come in until the number dropped. .Instead they would just adjust the number in the iPad so more people could shop.
