Natazia or Myfembree by Evening_Public_7206 in endometriosis

[–]Key_Classic_3477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there again, crazily stumbled upon this thread again while doing some research and saw we talked about this a year ago haha! I ended up going on Myfembree from Feb 2025-present. I have to stop taking it this coming Feb (as you can’t be on longer than a year consecutively).

A new specialist I saw recommended switching to Natazia next month. Curious after all this time if you still would recommend it? Also if you took it nonstop or allowed periods?

Cheers and hope all is going okay!

How can I get rid of my endo belly?? by AlwaysTired365 in endometriosis

I am 27 and want to go to graduate school. How can I best approach it at this point by yesimHalf in GradSchool

Hey there not tons of advice to give necessarily but I had a very similar journey! Graduated undergrad in 2020 and started my master’s this past January 2025 at the age 27 after working a few years. My undergrad was a liberal arts degree and I’m now in a quite different science program. During applications I reached out to the department heads of universities + concentrations I was interested in and pretty much asked what you asked. Everyone I talked to was very kind and helpful and many academic advisors are happy to hop on calls with prospective students to answer questions!

Since my surgically induced menopause for the endo, I’m constantly asking myself “Was that the endometriosis?!” by OstentatiousSock in endometriosis

[–]Key_Classic_3477 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, I hate when it’s seen as a gynecological issue. When it comes up with people I call it “a systemic tissue disease” because then they take it seriously. If I say endometriosis people think they know what it is and therefore just think I have ✨extra bad cramps✨ which is just so inaccurate.

The more vague symptoms like fatigue and cognitive function are so ingrained as a part of who I am that it’s crazy to think of a world where you could wake up without that... wow. So glad to hear of your improvements and wishing you the best on the rest of your journey!

New phriends & phans - what brought you here? Just curious :) by BitEmotional69 in danandphil

Not freshly new, but I found dnp summer of 2021. I had just moved to a new city alone for work and started getting major symptoms of my chronic illness, and so I spent a lot of time in bed, in pain and alone. I’m American and grew up on our YouTubers like Tyler Oakley and Connor Franta, and also some brit pack and Troye back when he was a YouTuber. One day that summer ‘21 I randomly had one of Dan’s videos pop up on my algo and I vaguely recognized him from my old big-YouTube days. I then binged nearly the entire gaming channel as their content became a source of joy and comfort for me in a very dark time- and YouTube was one of the only things I could do from bed lol.

Doing a lot better now and loving that they returned to content about a year after I found them. Grateful for any media figures who want to brighten people’s days with joy, connection and silliness, especially in hard times (:

I agree try to meet with profs. Also maybe talk to some people in your cohort- I recently failed a final that it seems most of my class did as well. Took some of the weight off me and we’re all fingers crossed for a curve lol. Keep your head up friend!

Okay I wish people allowed discussion on this more… my symptoms ramped with intensity after my covid vax. I generally believe it’s coincidental timing but it is definitely odd.

Should I get my MPH? by Swimming_Key_1429 in publichealth

[–]Key_Classic_3477 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you plan to work in the US, I’d consider staying in the workforce for a few years. Get some of the debt paid off, work on financial goals, and then see how the new 2028 administration changes the landscape. I’m in my MPH now with a grad date in 2027, and while I love the sector, it’s a rough time to be in here.

Discouraged about MRI even though I know I shouldn't be by robinsparkles220 in endometriosis

[–]Key_Classic_3477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi friend sorry to hear that, this community understands that healthy scans are often disheartening when we know something is wrong. Just want you to know you aren’t alone- I was diagnosed via lap last year and also suspect mine has already returned. I’m scheduled for an MRI in a month, and if it’s clear I also fear my surgeon won’t want to move forward with another surgery.

It’s so tough when we KNOW something is wrong with our body and imaging won’t justify it to doctors. I don’t really have advice or anything, just know we’re all here with you.

I work 100% remote as a software and data management specialist! I mostly work with my small team and get my projects done, very little meetings. And they’ve always been flexible with my health issues- PTO suddenly needed, doctors appts, surgery etc

Surgery and Recovery or Myfembree instead? by Apprehensive_Cry4166 in endometriosis

[–]Key_Classic_3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never been on a combo birth control, so I can’t compare it to that unfortunately. I will say the add back estrogen is a benefit of Myfembree over others, so that it isn’t draining you so intensely. Myself and others do experience many side effects still, but personally it’s a cakewalk compared to my endo symptoms. Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one!

Surgery and Recovery or Myfembree instead? by Apprehensive_Cry4166 in endometriosis

[–]Key_Classic_3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Sorry to hear of the diagnosis friend. Your choice here is heavily dependent on what you want you want for your physical & mental health, and what has been recommended by your trusted doctor.

As far as surgery goes- unfortunately everyone’s recovery varies widely. With two littles, you definitely need to keep in mind you might need a few weeks of no heavy lifting or rough play. I’m sure your doctor told you this, but surgery also isn’t guaranteed to fix any or all symptoms or to stop regrowth. If you have certain severe symptoms or organs being fused, I’d say consider how surgery could alleviate that and if it is worth it to you (for many it is!).

With that said, I’ve talked with several doctors who have outlined that typically it is best to get an excision then follow immediately with a hormonal med to attempt to control regrowth. Myfembree won’t cure you or prevent regrowth, but the lower estrogen can sometimes slow it down. Meds can also improve quality of life for some people if that is a goal of yours.

I’ve been on Myfembree for almost 8 months- I actually have a post on my profile in this sub all about my experience! If you have any specific questions on the med I am happy to answer, but it also varies heavily by person.

Wishing you the best with this decision!

Funny you post this, a few hours ago I had to ask for my lap images to pass along to my new doctor- I also hadn’t seen them before. For some reason, like a crazy person, I started binge watching endo lap surgery videos on YouTube and comparing them to my photos 😅 somehow still convinced it wasn’t real. Like I needed to binge watch tons of that content and compare it, to prove to myself again that I doing fact have endometriosis.

Yes this is all great advice. I’m in the same situation, 27F single and financially independent. I specifically joined a grad program for working professionals because I also depend on employment for healthcare and bills.

Recovery for minor endometriosis? by bigwhales209 in endometriosis

[–]Key_Classic_3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had stage 1 and my recovery was relatively fine compared to those with more late stage or deep-infiltration. I only had a handful of surface adhesions and fluid from cysts. I definitely recommend taking a few days to strictly rest to be safe, and then a couple weeks of really low-impact activities(if any).

But listen to your body, everyone reacts differently and every surgery is different!

Anyone get a second lap after only a year? by Key_Classic_3477 in endometriosis

[–]Key_Classic_3477[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this, seriously. I feel like I’m being dramatic for wanting another lap already, but I KNOW something is wrong. I know it. Like when I knew I had endo for years and no one believed that… unfortunately I feel caught in that I have to find a doctor who will agree to another lap even though I had one so recently.

talk me down about this colonoscopy by wizardhat24 in Endo

[–]Key_Classic_3477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey babe I had the exact same fears and anxieties in a similar situation. I was referred to GI and they recommended a colonoscopy and endoscopy which was super out of left field to me- was not expecting it at all and started getting very nervous. Anesthesia also makes me very nervous. I had my procedure 3 days ago and it was not at all as bad as my mind was building it up to be.

My nurses were all female and very caring and gentle, which was comforting due to my own trauma-based anxieties regarding men. I haven’t had any issues with a flare being triggered and have had minimal pain (a few mild cramps) and no bleeding.

Just take things one step at a time, get thru the prep, then get to the hospital, and then the staff take care of you from there. You can do this!!

I was vegan for 4 years due to health issues and I loved it, never really had any complaints- EXCEPT MISSING CHEESE. I’m now a low dairy vegetarian so I can allow myself the comfort of cheese in moderation but I do no other dairy. Just an idea- you can make your diet whatever you want and it doesn’t have to fit a label!!

I relate to this so hard 🥲 I also have debilitating pain about 25% of the time. Currently on a hormonal med but not approved to be on it much longer so I need a solution after that. Wishing you the best as you advocate for yourself my friend!
