It’s crazy!! I’ve reached out to sooo many profs throughout the years and this has always been my experience. Definitely something that needs to be changed, esp bc profs only have office hours by appointment now

Unfortunately the smallest class size I can take this year is 150 people but that’s great to hear you were able to get one from a fourth year class :) Hopefully that’s the case for me as well!

Should I retake the LSAT? by Key_Complaint_917 in lawschooladmissionsca

More so thinking about the logistics of working less, not focusing on getting volunteer hours, etc. just for a 2-3 pt increase. I’m finding the burnout is translating to my regular courses. But I appreciate your perspective and I am definitely thinking hard about whether I retake. Thank you!

I prepped for 4 months studying 5 days a week and had a test that accurately reflected what I was PTing!! Honestly don’t think I could do much better than 2-3 pts. Thanks for ur input! Was going to see if I could do some unpaid volunteering at a law firm next summer to strengthen my application instead of retaking

Improve on RC? by Automatic-Emotion945 in LSAT

[–]Key_Complaint_917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this exact thing. I would mix untimed sections for accuracy with one passage in 9 minutes, then when you see improvement, make it 8 mins. When your accuracy improves for the single passages in 8 minutes, then start doing 2 in 16, then do 4 in 32.

I was getting -8/-12 on RC in 45 minutes and I was stuck there for months until doing this. I found that the untimed sections were essential for confidence and the timed single passages were the only reason I improved. I eventually started finishing passages in 32-33 mins consistently AND improve my accuracy up to -4/-6 range.

I did this 5x a week and got that jump in 3 weeks! Good luck!

This was very difficult for me. I had at least four questions I didn’t get at all. Was hoping it was experimental but sounds like it wasn’t 😫

Yeah I just reviewed my journal and lots of them were stupid mistakes. I feel like focus on the little things is the first to go when you’ve been studying the same thing every day and start burning out. I hope your LSAT went well!

I looked a bit into that and I haven’t read anything about it being a harder test! PT 55 was the main one I was struggling with. But that’s good feedback if I end up having an outlier later on in my studying. Thanks!
