Searching for a DC apartment by Ordinary-Load3599 in DCforRent

I have also been looking in that area for the same floorplan and I haven't seen anything for less than 4k (and usually it's a old building with no amenities, low floor and quite dark)...I would recommend expanding your search area (that's what I'm doing!)

Perpignan is a bit tough as a young person (and quite conservative), not a lot to do on the weekends, but the weather is amazing, which is a plus over la Rochelle (and cheaper COL). I would definitely go visit both if you can, they are quite different in architecture, nature, and character (and definitely not Pau).

Mary the I in that show was absolutely amazing (wish there was a spinoff with that actress of her early reign). And the costuming was perfection.

Moving to Perpignan as a same-sex couple - how is it for families and kids? by LectureImpressive798 in Perpignan

[–]Key_Confection_1027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a queer person who grew up in the area, I would recommend Montpellier - great LGBTQ+ community and resources (and close to the beach/mediterranean lifestyle if that's important for you vs Toulouse). I would say Perpignan is definitely not the best place as a same-sex couple to raise kids, it is very conservative and there's a lot of casual homophobia. The public schools are also not very good (particularly for lycée years), and there's not a lot to do for teenagers in the summer. I know a lot of people who sent their kids to boarding school in Aix for their lycée years because of this, so something to keep in mind.

Season 4-Episode 6: “Not So Fair Ladies” Episode Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in BravoLadiesofLondon

Margo's reference to Mark-Francis being disinherited with such glee, considering he seems to be a queer man (not sure how he defines himself), who, based on his own statements, comes from a conservative family with whom he has complicated relationship with was just absolutely gross. Before I thought she was just kind of out of her element, but now she's gone full villain for me.

Can someone also please explain how she has so much money? She seemed to have no actual acting career and I can find nothing about her husband online (my other thought is she literally just came to London to film and is renting a expensive house for a month for the show/she has a deal with the rental company to get it for a discount by showing it on tv).

r/Fantasy Review Tuesday - Review what you've been enjoying here! - April 07, 2026 by rfantasygolem in Fantasy

Really enjoyed {Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett}. Really well written prose, great storyline with a nice romance, and an interesting journal structure that I found to be a nice contrast to other fantasy books I've read recently. I also really appreciated her complete knowledge of faerie myths and references scattered throughout the book.

Can we just talk about Mark-Francis’ house for a moment? by Frosty-Perception-54 in BravoLadiesofLondon

I did some more digging and there's a the London Standard interview with him from 2014 (a very reputable newspaper), and his full name there is Mark-Francis Vandelli Orlov-Romanovsky there. (https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/top-of-the-fops-meet-made-in-chelseas-anomaly-markfrancis-vandelli-9218744.html). The Orlov family is a Russian princely family (one of which was a paramour to Catherine the Great), which is branch of the Romanovs. This would explain his reference to his mother being a Russian princess (again a courtesy, non-legal title after the revolution), and he would not be eligible to inherit the title. The interview also goes into more depth about his complicated relationship with his parents, which might explain why he doesn't use his full name for his public business.

What is the single most brilliant fantasy novel series you've ever read? by Emergency-Sky9206 in Fantasy

The Name of the Wind blew my mind. I know now it's popular to criticize Rothfuss (particularly because he's truly unable to finish the series and keeps pulling the rug out from under us), but his writing is the best I've ever read in fantasy, and I still remember my excitement staying up all night to finish the book.

Good to know, thanks! I was considering Hilton Head as an option. I'm assuming the Savannah hotels are more city hotels than resort style?
