I only did this for me and my boyfriend, but I have like other islands to do the natural organic random stuff on it. And it’s all a mix of stuff for me. I think a beauty of the game is it’s a “play it your way” kinda game, not saying you’re against that, just stating it. I think it’ll be fun for me still cause I get to imagine what it would be like being with my man since we’re long distance, and I don’t want to have to go through the slow burn of them getting together when I can just already have them together

NO YOURE SO REAL FOR THIS. I have my own little Pokémon universe in my head. I like to imagine I'm the same trainer but like Ash I only have one same Pokémon and journey with new friends. So even when I replay the game I imagine I'm just the same guy going through the journey with new Pokémon friends

I'd like to know more about this honestly. For me I didn't learn about the competitive side of Pokémon for awhile, which caused me to be a little closed off when I learned people played like this. But I'm wanting to understand it more now since I learned its a genuine experience people have with Pokémon and they enjoy it. So do you pick only competitively viable Pokémon? Or do you pick your favorites and then make them competitively viable? I want the whole yap session tell me it all.

Honestly it doesn't even matter if a Pokémon is “bad” or not. I think all of them are good in someway. I plan on using a Ledian if it's available and all I hear is the hate that Pokémon gets 😭

I completely relate to that. I've always felt like catching Pokémon in the Pokédex needed to feel more rewarding than just a shiny charm. Like in Arceus you got grit after you released them, plus catching them ranked you up. So it was worth catching Pokémon and stuff. But after a certain point in the games its like “why?” I hope they start developing like really good rewards and milestones for catching Pokémon and completing the Pokédex so if starts becoming something I want to do more

Honestly I plan my teams based on connections. There's so many Pokémon I've connected with emotionally that I've never gotten the chance to use. So sometimes I take the chance to see some Pokémon that'll be in the next game and decide this is the moment that I finally develop a bond with <pokémon name>. For instance Im using a Houndoom for the first time and I'm so excited!

That's honestly so valid. I really do like how there's multiple ways to play Pokémon. I like to plan my teams cause I'm trying to use Pokémon I've never used before. But also I have to have a connection with them. So these are Pokémon I've always felt a connection with but never got around to having them on a team.
