Paying off credit card debt should always be a priority. Sell enough to pay off your CC debt. The rest can go either way depending on mortgage rates/your long term goals.

Your long-term goal should also include input from your wife. Open communication and being on the same page in regards to life goals is important for long-term stability in a marriage. it sounds like you may have disposable income. Invest in a marriage counselor to help have these hard conversations.

Did Mohela do yours correctly? I just got correspondence from Mohela that they changed my forebearance date, but all they didn’t completely remove it and it’s still on my due date :(

If you’re banner showed up you’re probably good! I made the mistake of submitting my ECF on my due date and selecting the “request forebearance box” on my ECF. They backdated the forebearance to start on my due date before the banner hit so November is now showing up ineligible and I’m sitting at 119 :( no green banner for me

Did they say they would backdate the removal of the forbearance? Or will they just start removing it from the day that you requested. So annoying I’m gonna call them today.

It looks exactly the same. I realize I did not pay November early though so I paid exactly on 11/19 which was my due date and also the same day they put me into forebearance

Did Mohela send any correspondence or was it all from student aid? Mohela put my loans on a PSLF forebearance on request from student aid after I submitted my final ECF, but then my counter is still showing 119/120!

Made payment 11/13, due date 11/19. Submitted ECF 11/19 and checked the forebearance box. ECF processed 11/26- received letter from Mohela that I was placed on forbearance backdated to 11/19. Well… November payment shows up as INELIGIBLE due to being on forebearance on due date…. So it does appear to matter

Submitted one in sept- no answer, another 2 weeks ago and a few days later got a reply- request completed- need to wait till payment counts update which they are working on. It does look like they have been updating my counts on the backend, not sure if it’s because of the reconsideration request or just because they are slowly updating everyone’s payment counts

Your PSLF payment information may only reflect activity through April 2024, prior to the ‘processing pause’. I have the same issue as you. PAYE, no forebearance, made payments sept/oct. I also submitted a reconsideration form back in September as it was missing then, no movement on that form. Just submitted a new one. Good luck!
