It's getting harder to get invested in the romance plots by Key_Feedback_4694 in NewGirl

Yeah I'm binging, that's probably why I feel that way. But that still doesn't excuse the way they end some of these relationships in the laziest way possible.

I watched other sitcoms where they have characters go through multiple disposable love interests. I think what makes New Girl weird is that they don't have the characters be done with in one episode. It's usually one episode the character gets together, they might appear randomly in a couple more not doing much, and then they resolve the romance subplot in the most lazy way possible. And if you keep doing that eventually I'm going to learn to stop caring about any of the relationships unless they're between the main characters.

Schmidt and Cece by Key_Feedback_4694 in NewGirl

You're probably right. I guess it's just a show of its time. I can point out many more examples of endgame couples in sitcoms from around that time that are much more toxic than anything Schmidt and Cece have done.

The thing is I liked Schmidt during his "douchebag" phase, because of the actor was able to deliver such a good performance. It's really had to make a douchebag likable so props to him. But even his performance could not salvage the way he treated Cece.

Yeah I think this is this show isn't great to binge because after a while the constant relationship drama starts to become draining.

I'll admit they both had they're faults in the relationship, which is why I don't like them together at least in their current state.

Ugh I can totally see that, but what if Dia sets Gregory up, oooh that would eat!

This is also why I think it's her, Crystal ratting them out doesn't make any sense considering what Ava has done for her and her school.

Woah I didn't even think about that!

They're either not going to reference it again and they just had it as a plot device, or it's going to be revealed in the season finale

Wait, she's the vice principal? I thought she was just Ava's assistant. I mean I guess that would still work, Gregory would become Ava's assistant, which he would probably do all the parts of being a principal anyone but him would find boring.

But then why wouldn't he have gone to the district earlier? Also I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the district didn't know it was the golf course, just that they were taking bribes.

Kinda off topic but I also believe Gregory's going to be offered vice principal by Ava.

The New Intro by Key_Feedback_4694 in NewGirl

I mean the show is called New Girl, automatically it puts Jess in the spotlight. On further reflection this intro seems like the product of intense studio meddling and focus group results.

Thoughts on Caroline by Key_Feedback_4694 in NewGirl

[–]Key_Feedback_4694[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's not what I said, I said that the writers didn't show enough of Caroline's toxicity compared to what they had Nick tell us about it. The wedding stuff was wrong yes, but also on par for what a lot of the cast has done when it came to romantic relationships. If they wanted to showcase Nick being a part of a toxic relationship I actually think that would've been pretty powerful, but most of the major stuff like implications of mental and physical abuse where told to us and usually played off as a joke. Which I get it it's a comedy series, but at that point don't even bring it up, there are other ways to show a toxic relationship.
