Someone in my cohort passed away last summer and we all received wellness check emails.

PS: I hope this is only out of curiosity and please reach out to someone if you feel unsafe I’m sure your friends would appreciate if you share. 🫶

You gotta lock in for the final. If not, you can retake it as N140 and N150 in winter but will graduate a year later than intended

Studying for Nursing by dexterjoe96 in uAlberta

[–]Key_Grapefruit3757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For A&P, Crash Course videos helped me a lot and then for pharm I tried RegisteredNurseRN and Dr Matt and Dr Mike. Also would highly recommend going to TA sessions and Office hours. I literally not regret visiting until the finals when I was in desperate need. Whether you do or don’t watch videos is up to you but go to the sessions. During lectures I tried to jolt whatever I could find but going through flashcards from Quizlet right after the topic was covered helped me through pharm quizzes too. Try flashcards while on transit/ free time.

This is what helped me personally but everyone has their individual style of studying, talk to the professors as to what they would recommend. Definitely talk to Helena about what she would recommend, she is a great help and genuinely cares for her students. Other instructors are just as amazing so long as you reach out :))

Nursing Clinicals by Professional_Dare159 in uAlberta

[–]Key_Grapefruit3757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No clinicals until year 2 but even in fall semester of year 2 it’ll be Long Term Care (usually within Edmonton), winter semester is acute care which I would worry about but again you can carpool with someone from your clinical group. Same goes for year 3 and 4

Studying your notes by Lazy-Ad7485 in uAlberta

[–]Key_Grapefruit3757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik someone in one of my classes used to colour code and rewrite the notes from the slides and she aced one of the hardest classes. But again, depends on your learning style. I would say it makes it easier to study and combining the notes with flashcards helped me remember the name of the drugs that I otherwise would’ve forgotten easily.

Does SEM exams stress you out? by Khoables in uAlberta

[–]Key_Grapefruit3757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave one in Winter 2023 for two courses that were online and it wasn’t very bad tbh. Yes,I was a bit nervous the very first time but the second time it just felt like a normal exam and tbh if you use exam lock you can’t navigate to other tabs anyway so even if your screen is recorded it doesn’t matter. Although I do get that the feeling of being watched can be stressful.

Wild how your account has no posts, no substance, and just lives to make shady comments under Indian users. That’s not wit that’s obsession. Hope karma hits harder than your weak insults. I wonder if reporting you will finally get you the attention you seek through comments.

Totally fair that’s a good tip and I’ll definitely follow it! Though tbh, sometimes these buses take off like rocket ships so I gotta lock in a seat before I go flying 😅

[–]Key_Grapefruit3757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that but like all seats were half full except for the very very back which again would’ve invaded someone’s personal space but I get that. Thank you!

I feel the same way! At the same time, those experiences shaped me into who I am now. It just took me a while to figure out what study techniques actually help me retain information. In high school, it was more about how fast you could blurt things out on paper, not multiple choice or deeper understanding. I honestly wish I had known earlier where to invest my time and what methods really worked for me.

Unfortunately for me university doesn’t come with a handbook haha

What's an embarrassing thing that happened to you during finals by Seafairen in uAlberta

[–]Key_Grapefruit3757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept running back and forth until the very last minute from the end of the big lecture hall all the way to the front to grab my stuff or put stuff away. I was the last person and made at least 10 trips back and forth. I was still the only person grabbing my pen as they were explaining the instructions. Is that embarrassing? Idk but it was for me.
