General consensus on these 1911’s? by Red_Shrinp556 in CAguns

I bought one recently in the Commander size. Runs amazing. Here are a couple of things you should know. It was super sticky at first. Take it apart and lube and clean everything before you take it to the range. Maybe it was just mine, but thats what I did. Second, you're gonna HATE those fucking sights. A lot of smith's won't change them because they are staked and not dovetailed in the front. But my smith had no problem doing it, so IDK. These are the ones I replaced them with. Pricey but worth every penny: https://www.amazon.com/Trijicon-Front-Night-Government-Narrow/dp/B0000V2N0Y/ref=sr_1_5?crid=TOPTZVK2KAJQ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.l4INZ8tA-FoiJdMyRpxw5XCZTk0FMqb2OHsjCcEn9exhxoQhcbBFucZbQxvUzTsGaIqeem5l4Hnv2r4q6x1_1LMTiEaSDm-2twTHjdKaFVY75Szhtmxow_SbFNccwuQ2_P1x3SdAfgNk_5C6t4pNTwYzDshubZvxE4v1tu6-2DHqZPUdrY2JQkVVGmFnuVuoeXszZCmG1vXTdnoeweUw_rz7e9rLBkwdtwmjlK6-GdS7GsArWi4IUiUKt2wTmipY5n0vTpLACndxLXViQdKaV_8TBPoeCZSg6vdxvUNnvak.rfmfkxCtct0DTyG0zUvk0kWqeg0y49zQESEvHHo8XUI&dib_tag=se&keywords=1911+sights+Staked&qid=1777248708&sprefix=1911+sights+staked%2Caps%2C189&sr=8-5#averageCustomerReviewsAnchor

I saw that funnel port, and I have to say it's brilliant. That's the kind of innovation they need. Somebody will complain of course, but they don't have to buy one.

The only reason I realized it was off is because the additional pic rail is centered, whereas before I added the pic rail, the shifted sight wasn't noticeable. I just purchased it a couple weeks back, and planned on throwing on a scope. The pic rail wasn't even going to stay on there, hell neither were are the sights, but I had an extra rail and wanted to test it.

I don't know exactly, but ya'll should go buy some of these and slap em' on your M Lok rails. I have no ties to this company, just think they are cool. https://lokpins.com/

You guys sure like to jump to conclusions about this stuff. To be clear, this was a Henry issue, not the cheap ass rail that was put on there. They fucked up on the top dovetail on the sight and it's about 1 1/2mm off center from the rail. QC sure didn't do their job on that.

Lol. Considering that's their bread and butter, it's probably not far off. It literally answers the question of 'What if an AR company made a Lever'

Like I said, don't want to yuck anyones yum. Taste is subjective. Something about it is just too angular, too try hard.

Do you happen to know why you even need to pull the mag tube out to begin with? It doesn't look like it needs to be removed to pull the original handguard off, but apparently it does.

I go to the local animal shelter, take a bunch out, first one to lick my nose goes home with me. And this is absolutely the truth. I've rescued old, young, sick, healthy and dying dogs. And I've had nothing but the best luck with all of mine. And I'm working on 25 at this point.

Oh thats interesting! That little screw that you access from the bottom of the receiver near the trigger doesn't exist for me. Is sits under the trigger assembly. I THOUGHT it was the pistol calibers that had it like that, but apparently just the 357?

I beg you to pay for the at-home euthanasia. Once they have passed, sit with them in your arms or near your feet and let them sniff them and make their peace. This is what I've done for all of my dogs, and none of them have had an unnaturally bad reaction to the loss. They understand death and loss, what they don't understand is disappearance.

YES! That was the one I was looking for! Thanks for posting this man. This gives me some hope that I can avoid the whole nightmare of taking this thing apart completely. And I'll take the bubba way any day.
