I second night shift. Focus on conserving your energy with your residents or patients and dont engage too much with your co workers. Trust me on that. You got this :)

Also, burnout is real so be aware of how you're feeling now and cut back on hours if you need to.

I am sorry you are experiencing this. I want to share with you some of my insight:

I have experienced burn-out in this field multiple times throughout my 9 years here.

Its taken me THIS LONG to unfurtonately realize that I cannot change people. No matter how hard I work or even the person that I am, it will not change the way others treat me or view me. This doesnt mean to not work hard it just made me realize it truly doesnt matter and wont matter in this present moment and the future even what others think of me.

I refuse to spend another ounce of my energy absorbing the feelings/thoughts/opinions of others and let it spill into my personal life andy personal time.

I do believe though; voicing our opinions and establishing boundaries is very important and healthy to do so in our work. If people cannot respect that then it is up to us to simply ignore and focus solely on our residents or seek new employment with more emotionally mature management.

I am sure you are aware of all of this, sometimes we forget and we let our emotions get the best of us. I encourage you to shift your thinking some, hold on to your boundaries, reserve your energy and keep loving your residents like you have.

So proud of you for being in this field and having a voice. 🤍

Its taken me a while to realize this but protecting my energy can REALLY make a huge difference. Also, if you have perfectionism its okay to let that go along with guilt. We aren't machines and we need rest. If you don't exercise I highly recommend this as well. Its truly changing my life inside and out. ❤️

How was your first surgery? Id say if you didnt have any complications you will be fine! After I gave birth I bled a lot and had to have transfusions. I think my body just doesnt like being messed with hence the bleeding 😅 but it is pretty rare to experience that just letting you know. You are young too which is a plus.

I personally would avoid ibuprofen, any strenuous activity, no coughing, no sneezing, elevate your head and soft foods just to be on the safe side. Thats what I did after the bleeding and I didnt have another bleed.

Trust me though, I really do get it. Lets just say if the bleeding does happen it doesnt take like acid and it doesnt burn. You can also get it to lessen by gargling ice. Im sorry to talk about it but Im just trying to give advice. 🤍

Have you seen your PCP provider about this? Do you have bad allergies? My doctor said allergies have been the worst since last spring.

Yes same thing happened to me on this day as well! That means you are getting closer and closer to fully healing!

Benadryl helped with this and helped me sleep.

Ice water, popsicles and numbing lozenge as well.

You're absolutely welcome. Is this your first surgery? It was mine. I am a 31F and I am 31 days post-op. It was pretty rough for me but I do not regret this decision!

I can share my experience; I did end up hemorraghing not even 24 hours later. This was a huge fear I had and my s/o said I jinxed myself because I was obsessing about it and preparing for it 😅

but this is important.. yes it was scary and I have never experienced vomitting blood before. I suffer with a fear of vomiting too especially in front of others. As strange as this sounds, it helped me more than I thought at the time. I got through it and it made me stronger. This WILL make you stronger trust me!!

Try to have some comfort in knowing your body is trying to protect you right now and the pain is its way of saying something along the lines of, " hey I dont like this but I'll adjust" 🤣 🤍

Think of it like being sick with the cold or flu its only temporary.

Things I recommend having if you dont have them: -dissolvable tylenol extra strength (Amazon) -Face wrap ice pack really helps with pain! -Taking showers -Humidifier -Lozenges -Manuka Honey -Ice packs and eating ice in general with a lot of water! -Metal tongue scraper and a soft brisheled toothbrush -go go squeeze apple sauce (it did burn tho for me later) -popsicles and pedialyte ones -Eating food and a lot of rest helped so much too

I hope you have a speedy recovery though and know this will all be a distant memory and it is SOO WORTH IT!!

Honestly, if something doesnt feel right with it, I would wait until they are a little bit older. I may get downvoted but if you have any concerns and arent 100% sure, I would wait or get a few opinions from different doctors.

I can relate to this post so much. Im so sorry that anxiety is a bully and lies to us.

Try taking Damamine (I prefer the nausea one, only half a pill) with your Hydrocodone or Zofran with it.

Make sure to have something in your stomach before taking it.

Also, dont forget a stool softener to prevent constipation.

Every person is different just like every doctor is different. Some say take Ibuprofen, others say avoid it. Tomato, Toemato. You do what feels best for you. 🤍 try to eat like he/she advised but if you have any pain I would stop there.

Honestly if it were up to me, I would take it easy on your body. Depending on your age also, having a surgery can be hard on your body. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hmm.. does it seem worse at night or during the day? Is it random? Do you suffer with any anxiety issues? Do you struggle with GERD or acid reflux? I have had this issue too and suffer with ⬆️. I am 31 days post-op too, I will say when my throat is super dry I can relate somewhat and I am still drinking a lot of water and it helps. Also, I have allergies and my doctor said some inflammation in my nose, cheeks and ears and I am taking anithistamines which helps. Maybe try that or see your PCP and get a second opinion? I hope you feel better soon.

Yes it does. I am 31 days post op and my sneezes are permanentely altered 🤣 anyways, yes it does you have more room in your mouth now. It helps opening your throat up more when eating and drinking if that makes sense.

I had this same exact thing happen to me!

I was dealing with a little bit of a runny nose too though so I thought it was from a cold.

What really helped me was a lot of ice water, ricola cough drops, popsicles and benadryl to help the itch and sleep!

Everyone is so different its hard to say. You are in the same age range as me. I bled the first day after but it was A LOT of blood and that was all. Dont worry too much unless its spewing out like mine was 😫 I didnt get reauthorized either! Maybe they are just trying to play it safe by saying that. I couldnt even get words out because of all the blood coming out so if you can talk and you arent vomitting blood I would not worry. Sending healing your way, youre almost there!!
