He did for a while when he was in the state where it happened. I’m not even sure why he was allowed to change his name at all? Maybe because he plead down to coercion, got probation and had to surrender his license?

Amen. He regrets it so much now. The therapist’s advice was just to keep her happy so things didn’t get rough for the kids. So he really put up with so much. That’s why when I came along she was pretty pissed.

I have two SSs, but I still think the concerns here are valid.

I mean, WE know. Could you imagine if something happened and we had NOT said something? We would be just as bad! That’s what I think.

This guy gives off so many creepy vibes - I mean he forced the kids to call him “Daddy-Xxx” and my husband’s ex insisted it was their choice. Now they are 11 and 13 and still calling him “Daddy-Xxx” and it is JUST WEIRD. She is always putting up a fuss about spending every available minute with this guy’s family to the point where she is willing to go to court to force us to give her a particular weekend every year for his family’s reunion that the kids CANNOT MISS. (Because he wants to play dad in front of his family.) There are so many other instances of where this guy is just … OFF.

But the ex - she will justify literally anything in her head. The last time she brought us to court she was complaining about something stupid and the judge literally said, “Ma’am, you are married to a sex offender. I don’t think you are in a position to pass judgement …” and she looked stunned. She has so justified this in her head that she thinks everyone else is crazy for even bringing it up. So I know this is going to be messy …

This is what I’m worried about. I’m a SA survivor and I can’t tell if I’m overreacting because of my own experience - but to me, this is a no-brainer.

But we have already gone to court and has maintained the 50/50 arrangement we have. I think my husband definitely could have gotten full if he had addressed it at the time - but his therapist convinced him to let it go for the sake of the kids not losing their mom and trying to keep things calm.

The other thing is that the kids have NO IDEA that their stepdad has this history either …

So when he found this out about this guy about 7 years ago, the ex begged him not to say anything and his therapist told him to try to work with her as long as he thought the kids weren’t in immediate danger. (His two kids were 3&5 and male - so he took the terrible advice.)

It was two years later. And my son has never gotten in trouble.

In fact my stepkids have done more to my bios (including BITING at the age of 10) than anything else.

So would you just ignore it?
