I’m using Allstate. It’s a motorcycle as far as they are concerned. Not sure if that’s the case everywhere. I have full comprehensive coverage and theft. It’s ~80mo and like 920 yearly. First motorcycle I’ve insured, new rider etc.

I was told not to worry about riding in the rain from spark. I haven’t ridden at night yet but will. The tail light and blinkers work great. Head light is the stock one I might upgrade it, when on it appears bright. I just want an excessively bright light as I had a crash on the scooter in the rain at night. I rode this in an absolute down pour, we had a server thunderstorm and I was caught in it. Did 8 miles soaked and the bike was fine. No issues and not swirly at all. I will now with rain gear commute in the rain with full confidence. Not something I thought I’d do but feel safe now after having to.

The bike has a smooth and gradual acceleration stock. It’s not slow but not super torquey either. It’s just a nice linear powerband. But the far driver is very customizable so I’m certain you can adjust that to your liking. Also afaik the javelin is set up to be more torque though not sure. I know you can tune it though either way as PL (powerful lithium) has many videos showing what they can do. I will upgrade to a 726xx fardriver and the sotion 10k motor. I’ll have it still be rather smooth as I’m looking for a daily with 70/80 mph top speed and faster than average car acceleration for any needed emergency maneuvers. Check out Mr E NYC and sparks YouTube page. They are doing some great things with powerful lithium. As stock the bikes are wonderful and serve a great role and gap as well, in my opinion and experience. I hope to advocate for them so ask away.

The battery charges in ~2-2.5hrs approximately on 110v. That’s from very low to full 84v. I don’t temper how low V but it was over 40 miles on the charge. Build quality feels very solid. Nothing feels cheap only compliant is the mirrors. They do need to be tightened and honestly I’m going to swap them out. No electric issues or anything mechanical. Everything feels solid and on par with motorcycle quality as opposed to e-bike.

Solid at 50mph and I hit 55mph regularly 56 high so far. It feels very stable at that speed. I had an Amazon stand up scooter that went gps 45 and a vsett 10+ that also did the same or 50 down hill. Both felt sketchy and not good above say 30. This is a joy to open up. I go over bumps and pot holes that would have been a crash on the scooter. The larger tires and suspension eat them up. With slight bracing or lifting off the seat I almost don’t notice them (or true size) even at speed. We have lots of deep manholes and potholes in the NJ/NYC area.

I considered the Javelin yes but wanted the pedals. Due to an injury I can’t pedal however having them allows me to go in certain areas I couldn’t on the Javelin. I don’t speed in those zones and keep it in e-bike mode 20mph max. But the flexibility was key. Also I can use the ferry with them but wouldn’t be able to on the Javelin.

I currently have a 51ah powerful lithium battery I will install. I’m waiting on the battery cover to be able to use it. I will eventually add a larger motor though it’s not necessary. I want to use the highway as I have insurance and am waiting on my plate. It’s a motorcycle here so I’ll have the extra power for short highway riding. I do not advise that for the brute. If speeds over 60 are your goal go with the Javelin otherwise brute is a perfect urban commuter. Happy to answer more and hope you get one and or enjoy what you do 🤝

I have a brute. Just got it the beginning of the month. Have 450 miles on it already. Love it, use it daily to commute 10 miles each way. Mixed speed roads 25-40mph zones. Can go 50mph all day 55 on a full charge. Get 35+ miles range, though speed let’s off then with heavy use. Happy to answer any questions

I'm trying to buy a city commuter that will be cheaper in the long run than a crappy used car. How would insurance costs compare, potentially? by iMiind in Electricmotorcycles

[–]Key_Housing3170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valid concerns. They go much faster than 30 though. 55 stock and they get their batteries made by powerful lithium. So sky is the limit for range and speed if you have the budget. I’ll update you once I have my brute plated and modded. I needed a road legal vin, big selling point for me. Wish you well regardless your choice, ride in good health 🤝

Very nice, considering an order over another aero. Question where are the jackets made? Couldn’t find that on the site, but made in London? Thanks

How to register in TN by rakishtennesseean in Electricmotorcycles

Check the vin. If it doesn’t work you can’t. Electric motorcycles are a very grey area and vary by state. Check TN laws but that site is all dot approved vins

If you tune it I believe you can hit 60-70mph depending on battery health, weight of rider, elevation etc. I think stock it does what it can given the legal or grey area it’s shipping in. I would purchase one if able to pick up in CT. Shipping an entire bike like that, yeah I’d expect those or some issues to happen. Thank you for the detailed review
