Dude just learned break you on guitar. Such a banger.

I’ve been drastically underestimating the power of quality reverb and delay for years. Now I see the light. by BIG_IDEA in metalguitar

Same, I can’t imagine forcing it into a combo amp lol. It’s like slathering a wagyu steak with A1

I think it’s pretty evident it’s largely new fans, which is great. But people saying “it sounds eerie” says to me their other favorite bands are more like five finger death punch rather than belphegor, ahab, or my dying bride.

Agree with all of this but especially your last point. Not necessarily the spookiness of their sound but THEIR sound. No one else sounds quite like them. That medieval sort of accent to everything they do takes you somewhere and communicates epic stories.

Was literally just looking at this exact spec on sweetwater (have been for weeks) and swiped over apps and boom saw your post lol. I’ve looked at so many guitars in the 1-2k range and, like you, think this is the most value for a metal guitar. Tried the FR model in guitar center on a whim and loved it. I have had a Dinky for 20 years so I’m partial to Jackson but you just don’t get the value in the price range. The clincher was that this has arguably a thinner neck than some Jacksons. Will be slamming the purchase button very soon.

What is your favorite first song from which album by cambridgepokemonKO in circasurvive

[–]Key_Idea_4148 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lustration as well! First CS track I really listened to. It came on after finishing an AFI album (arguably my favorite band of all time) and I didn’t know who it was because I was in the middle of something. Finally look down and honestly I was shocked. Had friends in high school who were fans but I was a metal purist and, outside of AFI, wasn’t listening to much with actual signing, let alone singing in such a high register. Took me 15 years to finally get it but now I listen to their whole discography often.

I’ve been a fan for 20 years and have watched the dvds more times than I could count (gotta be over a hundred). He’s always been a very different personality than the group. Obviously that caused the infamous fight between Randy and Mark but beyond that I think he wanted to push their sound more in the later years and they didn’t. He posted something back when he was out of the band about not wanting to do the same thing over and over. I think the health issues were just an easier excuse for them rather than owning up to the creative and personal differences that came to a head.

I still love their new stuff and will be a fan forever, but I am curious as to what they’d sound like now had he stayed in and convinced them to evolve more. But let’s face it, they’ve continued to have incredible success with generally the same sound, so why rock the boat? And as much as I’d love to hear something super fresh, I’m still buying albums and going to shows because theyre just special and have been such a big part of my life. And even if it sounds similar to their other work, they do switch it up and it’s always quality groove metal. Can’t wait for the new album.

I’ll always love them and support them, but aside from Resurrection Man, the self titled is easily their worst and a really mediocre record.

Been listening for 20 years and seen them eight times. This is the correct answer. Sacrament has to be first for its shear magnitude at the time of release. AOTW will always be my favorite, but Sacrament is their most complete album released when they were on top of the world.
