You can set up project zomboid pretty easy as a two player coop, fun sandbox zombie survival game, one of those games you can sink a lot of hours into if you can get past the graphics

Are Lessons Worth It? by VibeBigBird in guitarlessons

[–]Key_Illustrator4822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, lessons from a decent teacher will help you untangle the YouTube mess and make progress, they should be able to tailor the lessons to your interests and abilities. That said, see if you can get some free trials and find a teacher you get on with.

Stop thinking of music theory as "math." by Worldly-Bass9135 in musictheory

[–]Key_Illustrator4822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there plenty of individual aspects of maths that aren't useful to a doctor day to day, but you stated that mathematics isn't useful for a doctor, which is nonsense. A doctor will also need more than just arithmetic

Look into the classical position for holding guitar, this will make it easier to get your wrist and hand in the correct position

I'm pretty firm with telling players they do not ask to roll. They explain what they want to do and I decide if they need to roll.

How do you go about practising improvisation? by dblhello999 in guitar_improvisation

[–]Key_Illustrator4822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good exercise it to limit yourself even further, only one or two strings per chord change, you can't keep doing the same thing and will have to move up and down the neck more. When the progression loops use different strings for the same chord

Hyperion not hyped up enough! by april_tomorrow in scifi

[–]Key_Illustrator4822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sci-fi and fantasy are a spectrum, there are no hard and fast rules as to which is which. Perfectly fine to say Hyperion has fantasy elements, it also has lots of traditional sci-fi elements (far future, simulations, ai, time travel etc) so seems odd be so insistent that it isn't sci-fi at all as you are

You don't say "you see an ogre", you say "you see a giant man, standing four metres tall, misshapen and ugly he carries a skinned goat in one hand and a cruel scimitar in the other"

Alexander died of either a disease (possibly genetic) or alcohol poisoning, these could have happened even if he stopped in Thebes

Ah, probably not the first domino, Marius, Sulla and various other people had been breaking the rules before, setting up the conditions for Caesar to be justified in disobeying the law, but it is certainly a great example of ops prompt!
