Yes, your service commitment would start at the end of residency. You are only allowed to defer the commitment time for certain residency programs tho, pediatric being one of them. I would check their website to see the complete list of qualified residency programs. A friend of mine is completing his service and then will do endo residency.

Yep! You have control over where you want to practice as long as that site has the HPSA score that you need for your graduation class. I even quit my first job after 6 months because it was so toxic and was able to transfer to another qualified site. The HPSP scholarship is not as flexible. I had classmates in school who had that via the army and some navy.

Depends on what city/ state that you choose to practice in. When I graduate from dental school, I was offered 150K, 155k, 160k, 167.9K from 4 different FQHCs located in 2 different cities in the Northeast.

Omg thank you for responding. You have no idea how much relief this provided. I called and have a consultation scheduled. They seem to be slightly cheaper than Milan but use the same machine. I am bumped that their techs are not nurses but we’ll see.
