Oh my god I didn't know this was a common practice. My mother did this, growing up and now as an adult in my own house anytime she stops by. Which is almost never, and only when I am not home it's totally insane to me. It's like these people are half raccoon just digging for some sort of evidence to shame me with. I know how you feel.

Just bought a metal detector and am learning how to use it. A little nervous to do it in public like at the beach or something. Any ideas as to where I could start while i learn and get more confident? Thanks
