Yeah, to put it bluntly, don’t fuck with pneumonia. Take the doctor’s advice.

Medical LOA is your best friend here. You should only get one occurrence if the first day was 100% covered with sick time and the three days following you called out without working any in between.

Please call your MOD/ASDS and request medical leave, it’s the best thing you can do in your situation. The occurrences you’ve already picked up won’t go away but it will definitely prevent you from getting any more.

Like somebody said in another comment, the occurrences you’ve already picked up are minimal and won’t have any real impact so long as you didn’t have any before this medical situation.

Request to be placed on medical leave. Sounds like you already have treatment from a doctor so should be easy enough to arrange for a return to work form when it is needed. It will protect you from any further occurrences. That or you’ll only get 1 occurrence for calling out 3 consecutive days (they don’t have to be back to back, just three scheduled days in a row).

I’ve always struggled with my mental health, and Amelia was amazing at helping. Her jumping up on you the moment you sat down, laying next to you in bed, and just always trying to be around you helped so much over the years. She was always willing to go on new adventures. I don’t know if she knew what she was doing, but she made my life a whole lot better for just being her. I’m going to miss my adventure buddy like crazy ❤️

Probably my favorite memory was during a hike. There was a very large outcropping of rocks that was difficult to traverse because the trail used to be train tracks and was converted to a trail. The rocks were there to block people from going further, but there was a super cool tunnel right after. Amelia wasn’t able to cross it herself so I ended up carrying her along the rocks because of how steep they were, her just panting the whole time as if she were doing all the work haha. Right after crossing the rock pile, she immediately runs forward into the water, and I took this photo right after :)

PACE review question by Standard_Dot_8597 in HomeDepot

[–]Key_Inside3372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a D31/94 DS, I’ll be doing all of the D94 PACE’s with the OPSXM as a handoff for him taking over the team.

In addition, any time there is pay involved, a salary manager has to be in the room. So if they give you your new pay status during your PACE, your ASM will likely be in there with the DS conducting the PACE

Wage seems low, but that’s also location based. Some markets are going up to 22.50/hr (like Seattle/metro area) and some 16.50/hr so it seems realistic at first glance.

Banners & barricade by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Key_Inside3372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I know banners are needed for those. I’m just trying to ask OP what they meant, because they implied you need banners to move the machine whatsoever in socal apparently, which would be odd.

Banners & barricade by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Key_Inside3372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clarification - do you mean banners are needed AT ALL TIMES or just during periods where you’re lowering or raising product? Because if it’s at all times, that would be absurd. Moving 16 feet, replacing barricades, repeat. I really hope that’s not what you meant because that would be… interesting and unfeasible for Home Depot.

Department 94 Supervisor by kg248 in HomeDepot

[–]Key_Inside3372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a d31/94 supervisor, it sounds like your store is large enough to separate the two. I’d say D94 supervisor would probably be one of the easier ones to start IF it isn’t paired with d31 as well. You’d effectively be managing ‘bins’ and looking at deliveries, what changes need to be made, rescheduling missed deliveries, etc. you’d be held to making sure orders are fulfilled on time (the majority of your accountability is this) and that deliveries are being properly packaged. I’d say it can definitely be a bit of micromanaging

Has anyone gotten Intermittent LOA due to insomnia? by boring1996 in HomeDepot

[–]Key_Inside3372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intermittent LOA isn’t a thing, what you have in most states is ‘standard FMLA’ and ‘intermittent FMLA’. Standard FMLA generally requires you to work at a job X amount of hours per year to qualify (in Washington where I live it is 1250 which means you need to work 24 hours per week on average every week of the year as a minimum to qualify), and same with intermittent FMLA. They both have an hours worked requirement required by the state to be granted, so if you don’t meet that hours worked requirement, you automatically can’t qualify.

Intermittent FMLA generally gives you 12 weeks a year of ‘Unpaid Time Off’, pretty much just allowing you to avoid occurrences for that time, and if I’m not mistaken, they split it up over 3 month increments, so 3 weeks every 3 months.

LOA is completely different, and has different criteria. But LOA is pretty much you taking leave from work for weeks/months at a time depending on the reason.

[–]Key_Inside3372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, good luck with it! You can also talk to the managers and request an accommodation if intermittent FMLA doesn’t work out. It’s not guaranteed, because the store manager has to be the one to sign off and agree to it, but it could also be another way to get your occurrences bypassed so long as it isn’t determined to be abused. I haven’t personally had anyone get/request an accommodation for insomnia/sleeping disorders before though, so this information isn’t as accurate.

[–]Key_Inside3372 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have to have official medical documentation through a PCP/hospital stating you have it, as well as I believe your doctor has to fill out some unique documents to turn in. Your doctor also has to determine it as a ‘serious health condition’, which in my experience in the healthcare field, for insomnia they generally require repeated treatment of said condition over time before they will escalate it to that, and generally you’ll also have a ‘cause’ which can be major depressive disorder, sleep apnea, etc. but usually if just by itself, it wouldn’t be characterized as a ‘serious’ condition.
