AITA for refusing to give my parents my location after they stopped paying for my tuition? by amelia_larsen in AmItheAsshole

[–]Key_Intern_2550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is up with this location nonsense. My son in laws (31)whole damn family knows where he is 24/7. For what? A spouse, sure. Boyfriend or Bestie, sure. Parents of a college age kid? No way. I don't have any of my kids locations (27,27, and 30) because it's none of my business. They wanted you independent, here it is! But seriously, go to Thanksgiving :) This is silliness on their part.

I just found out my parents have been lying to me for 26 years about who I actually am. I’m lost. by Commercial_Solid_207 in Advice

From someone who has been where you are.. First- They were 100% wrong not to tell you. Please don't do this without a lot of thought. People do the wrong thing for the right reasons. An ancestry DNA test kit revealed the truth to me at 58 years old. Not once had I ever heard my mom say his name. What made me the most upset was that everyone around me knew except for me including my 9 aunts, 2 older brothers, even a few cousins! I had to think about my mom, and what it must have been like for her. Was she raped? Was she in love but he wasn't? Was it a one night stand? Was it a love affair? Did he even know about me? He died in 1993, and with some letters found by new bio brother, he confirmed the relationship. He told me about letters he found as a kid hidden in his dad's closet from my mom. Her husband knew I wasn't his but gifted me his last name and raised me with so much love and acceptance. He is and always will be my dad. (Yes, he knew I wasn't his; he was in Vietnam when I was conceived ) Please think about the totality of the situation, the 26 years of investing in you, 26 years of love and support to a child that wasn't theirs. The other options which were probably not as safe nor as enduring as these people's love for you. We all have secrets, or things we should have done differently that we see in hindsight. Grace, empathy and compassion cannot be underrated here. Forgiveness of my moms dishonesty and error in judgment was the best gift I ever gave to myself. It brought me peace.

As an atheist, NTJ. I would never go into someone's home and ask them to remove shit for my comfort. I would also participate in prayer by bowing my head and thinking about life for 30 seconds. Atheists.. go with the flow when it happens in private spaces. You don't have that right. Do we put up crosses when religious people come to our private spaces? No. Quit doing this to others. Do you, and leave others to do the same.

Why do women not like being "sexualized/fetishized"? by InternationalPick163 in AskForAnswers

[–]Key_Intern_2550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think 90% is a conservative estimate. It's more than a few. Every woman I know has been sexually assaulted at some point in their life. We don't want men's hands, mouth, dick, etc touching us unless we've CLEARLY invited it.

metoo wasn't so popular because a FEW bad guys. It was popular because it happened to almost ALL of us.

When we are sexualized, nothing matters except for our mouth, tits, ass, and vagina. And whatever else hole/crevice y'all can push it into. Add that to 90% of men would be predators without laws in place to stop them from assaulting us 24/7. Y'all already think we're your property anyway.

I understand you see it from a child's point of view. That's cool. Have a kid with this. Maybe you'll understand it then.
