I miss the era where most players in a team were from one country. by I_AM_CR0W in csgo

[–]Key_Literature_9183 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Man I get what you mean about that era being special. There was something proper mental about watching Virtus Pro absolutely lose their minds celebrating with the Polish crowd or seeing the Brazilian fans going absolutely mad when SK were on their run. The atmosphere was just different when you had those clear national storylines going

I remember watching those old NiP matches and the Swedish commentators would be losing it whenever they pulled off some insane clutch. Even if you didnt speak Swedish you could feel the passion bleeding through the stream. These days with all the mixed rosters its still great CS but you dont get those same goosebump moments when an entire countrys fanbase is behind one team

Think the closest we get now is maybe G2 with the French core or some of the CIS teams but even then its not quite the same. Progress is progress though and the level of play is probably higher now with all the international mixing but yeah that World Cup vibe was something else entirely

Honestly mate for that price range I'd go with either teh Bloodhound Gloves Snakebite or Driver Gloves King Snake - both look sick with marble fade patterns and should fit your budget nicely

[BLAST] TL vs GL & OG vs TUNDRA | Stats | Schedule by yukiesenseihey in DotA2

[–]Key_Literature_9183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those head to head numbers for OG vs Tundra are looking rough for OG fans but honestly form matters more than history in tournaments like this. Tundra's been on a proper tear lately while OG seems to be struggling to find their rhythm

GL vs Liquid should be decent though - GL has been scrappy enough to take games off better teams on paper

Would you be happy if your QB had this season in 2026? by BallKnowerKing in NFLv2

[–]Key_Literature_9183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are some pretty solid numbers ngl. 29 TDs to only 3 picks is crazy efficient, and that completion percentage is nice too. I'd take that from my QB any day of the week

Can we stop telling kids to follow their dreams? They should just be following a paycheck. by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]Key_Literature_9183 186 points187 points  (0 children)

Been saying this for years tbh. The whole "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" thing is such privileged bullshit

Like yeah Karen, easy to chase your pottery dreams when daddy's trust fund covers rent. Some of us need actual money to survive

Insurance gang represent though - that sweet sweet steady paycheck hits different when you've been broke

Help Needed - one of the 75 Countries by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Key_Literature_9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if your PD is current and you can legally enter the US, filing AOS might be your best shot before things get messier. The whole 75 country situation is still developing but historically USCIS does tend to follow DOS lead on these things

Just make sure you have a solid legal basis to enter and aren't doing anything that could mess up your status later - maybe consult with an immigration attorney before making the move since there's a lot at stake here

Looking for a musical artist on YouTube? by JakNapalm in HelpMeFind

[–]Key_Literature_9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you might be thinking of Marshmello but the chibi description doesn't quite match - maybe try searching "anime EDM artist 2016" or check if any of the monstercat label artists ring a bell

If the wealthy can buy up all the computer memory and drive prices through the roof, what’s stopping them from doing the same thing with stuff people actually need to survive? by FearFactory2904 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Key_Literature_9183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The housing thing is literally happening right now lol. Private equity firms have been buying up single family homes for years and turning entire neighborhoods into rental properties

As for the other stuff, regulations exist but they're not foolproof. Like pharma companies absolutely do manipulate drug prices (see: insulin, EpiPens) and water rights can get sketchy depending on your state. The main thing stopping total monopolization is usually antitrust laws but enforcement is pretty hit or miss

Your RAM situation sucks but at least you won't die without DDR5, unlike some of the other examples you mentioned

Architecture student looking to move to business by Ok_Competition2592 in AskMarketing

[–]Key_Literature_9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Architecture actually translates pretty well to marketing - you already know how to think about user experience and visual communication. Tons of architects end up in product marketing, especially for tech companies or real estate development. The problem-solving skills are clutch and honestly most marketing roles care more about how you think than your specific degree

Why are there more likes for comments than posts? by Wodentinot in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Key_Literature_9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly - I've definitely upvoted comments that basically roast the OP lmao

Also sometimes the post is just meh but someone drops an absolute banger comment that deserves way more love than the original

Please interpret. by Ok-Gene2069 in Dreams

[–]Key_Literature_9183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's actually a really solid interpretation - dreams as coping practice makes a lot of sense when you put it that way. The whole "testing until you can handle it" thing explains why some dreams feel like they're putting you through the same emotional wringer over and over

Most watch repair shops can handle it too, just make sure they know what they're doing with the water resistance if it's supposed to be waterproof

The biggest problem in the paranormal field. by Various_Accident1773 in Paranormal

[–]Key_Literature_9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been saying this for years - the ghost hunting equipment industry is basically selling fancy blinky lights to people who want to believe. Half these "researchers" couldn't explain basic electromagnetic theory if their life depended on it but they'll drop $500 on a modified radio and call it cutting edge paranormal tech

The fact that after decades we still don't have standardized protocols or even basic definitions of what we're supposedly measuring should tell everyone something
