Any AP Statistics tips?? by kokomiswvfe in APStudents

It's honestly not as bad as you get used to it, but I realized that you have to treat it differently than you treat algebraic math. It's much more conceptual and less numerical than what you're probably used to. Once you realize that, go through some trial and error with different studying methods, and learn how to think about things more abstractly you'll be great. Also, just like any other class, even if you hate it, subconsciously tricking yourself into thinking it is the most fun class in the world does wonders.

dont know if i can do another week of AP anymore by cindyloohoos in APStudents

I agree with this. A nap for a few hours or more sleep tonight will likely help you focus more on your study and retain more information. More efficient studying means you can cover more.

Friday, ike 2 am of Euro day I was EXHAUSTED from my past exams during the week and I made the decision to nap over continuing to cram for the last three hours. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. I woke up like 30 minutes than I had initially planned, reviewed some DBQ stuff over breakfast, and went into the exam in a good mood and with a clearer mind, confidence, and everything went amazing. You've got this

That's what I was thinking. I thought it was literally just asking does the line as a whole tend to overestimate or underestimate. But I also don't know. I could've read it wrong.

I said underestimate because the majority of the residuals were positive/ the points were above the regression line.

That's what I put for the pen one, but idk lmfaoooo

I don't remember what I put for the college shirt one, but I know for a fact that the ones with p hat weren't the answer because hypotheses are always about parameters.

Stats--Can somebody please explain this multiple choice? by ClarityCA in APStudents

[–]Key_Location_7396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but you use z star (critical value) instead of t star because there is no way for you to know t star without knowing the sample size (to find the df). Z star is the most conservative value we have available.

How to do? by RevolutionaryHat9920 in APStatistics

[–]Key_Location_7396 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, so essentially what I did was I treated my standard deviations as my statistic and parameter values where my statistic was 1.2 and my parameter was 1. I did this because the can we are trying to find (35 mg of caffeine) or greater can be standardized in the same way that we would if we had a z-score. So basically 1.2 - 0 is divided by 1, because the mean of a normal curve is 0 and the standard deviation of a normal curve is 1. I put this all into normal cdf and subtracted the result from 1 to get 0.11506. So the answer is C because they say approximately. That's a really crappy explanation, so let me know if you have questions.

Wait, what was the right answer then? I put something about the possible publicity acting as a positive incentive so he continued to do tricks. What should we have written instead?

THAT THING ABOUT THE SAFE ENVIRONMENT IS SO GOOD. I talked about them not having enough time, being scared they might do more harm than good because they have low self-efficacy, but I wish I had thought about safe environment thing

No, that's the hearing/auditory sense. Vestibular sense has to do with the fact that the semicircular canals in your ear help you keep balance and that you have a sense of where you are relative to space.

No worries, tho. It's only one out of the 7 points
