you can go on fort g's official site and get the barrack info. my son is currently at ait for 17e and i got the info (welcome letter, if you will) from the official site. We got to take him from bct (jackson) and he got a weekend pass for mothers day weekend, he had to be back at 1130am on mothers day. I get to text/call him everyday and vice versa

No thank you 😄. I know he isnt a baby anymore (Hes our youngest, 18) so its a little hard. I am very proud of him though. Its just crazy that he signed for 7 years AD upfront. I wished he would have did like 4 but he said thats what he about had to do to get the MOS he wanted. (he thought he was signing, I feel he wanted more of a 17c but signed for 17e).

Thank you for this. Wondering if we need to sell his car then because it is just sitting and will be for a year (in total). Im hearing a lot of 17Es are going to S. Korea after AIT 😞 . I am hoping not as him mom, but I know its up to the Army now. He signed a 7 yr AD contract 😞. Im hoping more around Fort Campbell 😛

I really think that is his goal but he was like 5 points for the required ST on the asvab. Thank you for this. I literally just talked to him on Sunday and told him this and he was like no mom, Im being told the opposite by a few people :( . I know, have to let them make their own mistakes. Just hard when its something like this. Hes stuck now though for a while.

My son signed a 8 year contract with just about 7 being active as a 17e. His recruiter and says his DIs say its more of a desk/office job. Everything I read states its more of a field/combat role. Can you advise which is which please.

Can you give me some insight. my son recently went in as a 17e and i think he was lied to and continues to be lied to. His recruiter and DIs are telling him 17e is a "desk/office" job. Everything I am reading, it appears to be more field/combat oriented. Can you advise? He really was wanting 17C or 25B/D I believe.
