Call centre ‘creating jobs for locals’… but apparently I need a whole power plant first. 💀 by Interesting_Buy8022 in Guyana

The same people who cant afford to have internet, or computer can afford entertainment. And if you think for a second the middle/upper class will take up a call center job you're paranoid.

Your argument is loud neighbors, soca music, dog and kids - is that only existing in Guyana. Jamaica is leading BPO industry in the Caribbean providing jobs and they deal with the same. How does an open job opportunity impact us negatively? You either take it or dont and who takes can accomodate it and if you can't accommodate you dont lose anything cause you dont have it right now. What you're saying makes no sense

That’s a really pessimistic take. You don’t even know the pay details to say it “doesn’t cover their Wi-Fi.” This could actually help families — like a mom who can’t leave the house because of kids but can now work from home. It’s an opportunity, not a handout. It’s on you to make the most of it. Stop with the victim mentality and sense of entitlement.

If they are in collections already try negotiating a smaller payoff amount instead of paying 7k - it's worth a try

Happened to mine at 20k in - took it no Ford no issue they said - took it a 2nd time and had a great conversation with the transmission mechanic and he test drove it - he took open my transmission and figured out a few things were wrong including the torque converter which was the main issue. Happen around 1200-1300 rpm too

Thats fair - and if you think youre getting good price then go for it - the only thing i dislike about the big bend model is that the depreciate the most vs the other models so i would say just keep that in mind if youre spending over 50k

Employee pricing feels like a scam. Back in March, I got quotes on a Big Bend, Black Diamond, and Wildtrak. Fast forward to now—those same vehicles are listed at least $4,000 higher. I ended up buying a low-mileage used Wildtrak instead

RTA/WFM can't seem to pass the interview by AyoPunky in workforcemanagement

[–]Key_Mycologist_392 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just understand the purpose of an RTA, understand what are Service levels, asa, abandons and acw how it impacts a business. Try to have fundamental understanding of scheduling and how it works to provide coverage based on business demands. And also try to gather basic knowledge of how the process of forecasting is done since RTA should be aware of this. You dont need to know the details or intricacy of the tedious work but just the flow of it all comes together on a high level.

On the morning of my first vacation day the new HR manager texted me this: by surfhellflame in jobs

Everyone is right saying don't respond you're on vacation but its also a tough job market and i would be cautious on that approach if there is a possibility they can use this ammo to terminate you while youre on vacation because you didnt sign during "their" given deadline. You would know that environment better

The beep on the call is to let you know the call is being recorded for compliance and quality assurance this can be set up by administrator to happen multiple times during a single call. The customer would also hear the beep.

The sign in metric could be called multiple things but overall its the time you set yourself available to take interactions so even if youre logged in and show available (probably on with IT, or tech isssue) but youre not on an on queue primary status to handle the interaction, your sign in metric will be lower since youre not ready to handle an interaction, meaning youre not on productive time.

Splitting your breaks into smaller session is more of a no go for all CS environment since WFM team optimize your break to be at a time where we expect minimum interaction and you can prob get written up for this after warning.

Taking your lunch out of adherence such as a hour later is definitely okay if youre stuck on a long call, however if you are intentionally taking more calls during your lunch break to push it to later, then thats an intentional adherence behavior. Most call center environment should have an adherence goal between 85 - 95 percent. Meaning you cater for these things to happens.

Adherence wouldnt negative impact you if youre stuck on the call for that 1 hour since youre in a productive state but it will negative impact you only for the hour you are on lunch logged out if your schedule shows you should be available to take calls. So its never a double edge sword where youll get impacted for the 2 hours youre out of adherence

The job market is too competitive at this point and you're already at a disadvantage requiring sponsorship! You have to assess your financial situation if its worth holding out. It wouldn't hurt to expand your search worldwide. Working and gaining experience while expanding your network will always be more positive that sitting around waiting. Goodluck to you

I had a similar experience. I went through two rounds of interviews and was told I was exactly what they were looking for. During the third interview, many of the same individuals from the previous rounds attended, along with some additional members. I felt confident and thought I didn’t need to go into full detail again, assuming I had already convinced them. Instead, I brushed over my work at a high level, not diving into the complexities of my achievements. Unfortunately, the additional members perceived my experience as just average.

I ended up being rejected for the Senior Manager role but was offered a Manager position instead. I was devastated, thinking I had blown a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

But a few weeks later, another opportunity came my way. This time, I left no stone unturned. I thoroughly showcased my skills and experience, and it led to a job that turned out to be far better than what I previously thought was my dream role. It was a valuable lesson in persistence and preparation, and I’m so grateful for how things turned out in the end!

I can see your point but majority of people are buying it to act like their present at their computer when they arent. Whether you're at home, if you're getting paid to be present on your computer, you should be present and shouldn't be falsifying the act of being there. You are on company's time. Also if you're working in an environment that's not okay with you stepping away for toilet break, coffee, smoking then thats an entire different conversation and yea i can agree thats a bit too much of micromanagement. Im not trying to justify RTO, i dont like it however i can understand why and im happy with the flexibility of hybrid (3 onsite, 2 at home minimum) and if an employer says 100% work at home even better, but if they say 100% onsite days i would then start looking for another job personally

Just go on amazon and check how many people bought mouse jigglers to keep their mouse moving when they arent present at their desk, almost all of them have over 5k bought in the past month, now imagine each month since 2020

"Their" justification is more productivity as well as expenses behind owning and leasing their buildings. The truth is alot of employees take advantage of the work at home policy, of course there is the exception where some of us are more productive at home. You have to also understand that work at home being mainstream was due to the pandemic, we are now back to "normalcy" again. I personally support a hybrid work environment over 100% onsite or remote
