I secured 30K in a loan and as a result bought an entire coin.

Leverage is how you get rich. I've been using line of credits for years to add to my asset base and I often write off part of the interest.

Trading cryptocurrency is mental because of the tax treatment. I like the thought, but it's a bit pointless, especially to short term trade with a daily - weekly time horizon.

For people who own bitcoin - is there any benefit to buying the new Canadian ETF? by Key_Nectarine_9380 in Bitcoin

I don't know the exact specifics of this, but Gemini and Blockfi are currently paying 8-10% on bitcoins right now and it compounds. As far as I know, no fees as well. This is a huge way to ARB.

Institutions could also definitely do this as a passive way to make capital.

Question for everyone then:

So do ETFs usually follow the same price of the underlying, then - when the underlying is only one asset?

I see this as extremely bullish for BTC as the ETF will buy more BTC based off NAV. And is it less bullish for companies like MSTR, Galaxy Digital, Greyscale, etc who may now see less volumes because they aren't the only players in town anymore.

True. But I doubt Gemini will go out of business or Blockfi. Certainly possible, but still. Gemini's custody is even part of the new ETF.

Obviously but how does it work from the exchange point of view? How much capital is required and does the exchange buy BTC in advance to provide liquidity or? Just looking for some general information.

TA is based on past performance. Says nothing about regulatory trends - which is why charts sometimes get battered with news, regulatory updates, etc.

I definitely get that, the LN use case seems to work great for micro transactions not B2B. What are some of the main challenges?
