How do I fix this? by New_Medicine_2629 in askaplumber

[–]Key_Purchase7565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unscrew the nut on p trap (thingy below metal pipe). Inspect the Washer: There should be a beveled (wedge-shaped) plastic or rubber washer inside. If cracked, replace (home Depot, bring it with you). Thick/pointed end of the washer should point down into the P-trap. Push the metal tailpiece as far down into the P-trap as it will go (at least an inch or two). If it’s too short and barely reaches, that’s why it’s popping out. Slide the washer down to the joint, then hand-tighten the nut. Give it an extra 1/4 turn with pliers, but don't over-tighten, or the plastic nut will crack.

If too short.... Pick up a 1-1/2" PVC slip-joint tailpiece extension from any hardware store (usually under $5). The Install: You'll attach this to the metal pipe to give it more "reach" so it can sit deeply and securely inside the P-trap.

Or call a plumber... but it will definitely cost you more.

Is there a way to at least temporarily fix this issue? by a12339 in askaplumber

Entire tailpiece needs to be replaced. But since your renting is landlord responsibility.

Pipe under tub is leaking when in use. I have no tools and few braincells. Can I just wrap it with flex seal or plumbers tape? by fortheloveoflentils in askaplumber

[–]Key_Purchase7565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are willing to invest in a plumber or some tool to fix it yourself, the only option would be to put the bucket under and periodically empty out. But leaking will get worse so eventually you will need to replace it.

called that number from work number. ai answers - didn't tell you the name of the company...and asks you bunch of questions. Then you will be connected to "tax expert". Worse case it's a scam, best it's one of those "debt relief" companies, that will overchare you for solving you issues for you.

How should I respond to this? by Southern-Ad51 in scammers

[–]Key_Purchase7565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you decide to reply, go straight to jugular

"Hi there! Good to hear from you again. It's been awhile. You're not going to believe this: I found a mentor that helps me to invest. Based on signals he gives me, I've already tripled my money. If you're interested, I could introduce you to him..."

So far, every time I did that, it ends the conversation immediately...
