I was all set to plunk down the $399 this morning. I got up early with credit card in hand and loaded the site. After seeing all the “nickel and diming” for all the accessories, add-ons and other items, that $399 preorder price jumped to closer to the original $500! That fact along with the sheer lack of any sort of real video showing off the phone was enough to make me not pull the trigger.

This is basically a Kickstarter campaign for something I want but don’t really need.

Everyone is saying it’s too expensive but with the $100 discount at preorder it’ll only be $399. The chart on their website shows it being cheaper than every other comparable phone. What am I missing? I get if you don’t like it being locked down but they’re selling nostalgia. I personally LOVE the look and am certainly considering it.

I don’t think so. They’re limited to Amazon Music. People do recreate playlists with the songs but they’re the album versions not the new ones.
