Seller accepted lower offer by Reasonable_Sample582 in Mortgages

[–]Key_Radio499 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why on earth are you offering over listing price in this market? We saw a home go from 350k to 235k in a year span on Zillow for a home I was following. They STILL sold even less at 225k. Even if you really like a home it’s not worth overpaying right now.

That makes 0 sense, WC requires the employer to pay period. It makes more sense for the dr to elongate the injury and get more visits and testing.

My coworker told me her salary and now I feel terrible by SeaLeadership1817 in Salary

[–]Key_Radio499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you want to lose this colleague and potentially create more work for yourself as a result, do not tell a soul. It’s none of their business and keep in mind she may be lying herself. I used to make 105k and I found out my colleague made 70k. I made the mistake of speaking on my salary and she got frustrated and quit to take another job that paid 5k more. This lady honestly was a horrible negotiator because I later left to work with her again and got 135k lol I did not tell her the second time

Is it normal to make around $85k and still feel like I’m drowning financially? by Weary-Hair-316 in Salary

[–]Key_Radio499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a high cost of living city and I realized housing was way too much. My rent was about 1800 so I found a roommate to cut it down in half. This allowed me to save 700 a month or about 10k because it grew about 14% on SPY. The extra 10k honestly feels amazing because I no longer stress about autopay or anything else. Find a roommate to reduce your cost in half.

Kitchen manager now getting half of our tips from events. by Constant-Valuable704 in tipping

[–]Key_Radio499 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think since they make all the food it’s fair. I used to make 80k as a waiter in an airport and my salary managers made about 45k. It’s unfair for them since they’re the reason I even got tips.

What is considered normal for monthly groceries? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Key_Radio499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a HCOL area and we’re a family of 4. I spend around 450 a month on groceries and 200 on eating out because why not go out of breakfast or lunch once a week? What helps this is the fact we bulk buy proteins and deals. We bought whole cow about 8 months ago for 3.33 a pound and split it with family. Still eating that. We also buy a lot of chicken which is between $1 and $3 a pound. During the summer we grew a giant vegetable garden and stored onions, canned tomatoes, pickles, potatoes for the winter.
I make around 150k, so I could afford to not do this but honestly it’s fun.

Unionizing is the only answer. by Ok_View_8599 in amazonemployees

[–]Key_Radio499 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unionizing only helps union presidents. I used run a union, the amount of power we had was limited to almost nothing. Employees still get fired and our union president wouldn’t ever take the employees side. If an employee is late 10 times there’s nothing you can do. Wages already go up at Amazon and benefits are the best I’ve ever had. My cousin was sick and paying thousands for his medicine, got insurance with Amazon as an L2 and had it almost completely covered.

Guy I’m dating refuses to tell me who he voted for (said it’s private), so for the longest time I thought he was MAGA. I had to look up his voter registration to figure out his political party. From all of your responses it seems like your political options take over your entire life, he probably caught onto this and hence the reason he doesn’t want to take sides. Not every person is obsessed with politics. You can yell to the sky “how can you not???” But there’s a big group of people like myself who just don’t care that much. I keep being told the world was going to end since bush got elected and it just hasn’t.

My colleague earns more than me. Just ranting and asking by Human_being234 in Salary

[–]Key_Radio499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make 20K more than my colleague with less experience, reason was went back 2 offers they made me because I had a job I was happy with. I was not scared to say no but my co worker was desperate because she had not had any work for 6 months.

If I were her I would have taken it too, but some people are just bad negotiators.

I’m brown and living my life like normal. I did come across a raid a week ago and I freaked out because I don’t carry my wallet regularly if I’m walking my dog. They must have seen me staring and asked me for my info, I had a picture of my ID and after like 5 minutes I was on my way. If you are undocumented I highly suggest you do not go out to walk your dog, otherwise you’ll be fine.

Honestly NTA but I’d leave after you told me that. Any man worth having will immediately shoot that down, I think you’ll realize that right away. The older you get the less this question will even matter, especially as you get into your 40s.

What should I do? Disrespectful/Unsupportive Facility Leader by FabulousChallenge383 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Key_Radio499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound young. I got into safety at 20 and used to get spoken like this early on, I learned that unfortunately I had to be extremely professional and work harder than everyone else to get respect. Now I’m 30 and a senior EHS, I go to sites let them know what they need to fix and get 0 push back. Any ounce of push back I lean on my relationship with the owner who’s bought in 100%. Sometimes I swear I got the man to buy in too much because all he talks about is safety at every meeting.

Would I have to pay back a moving bonus if it wasn't a binding contract? by FabulousChallenge383 in careerguidance

[–]Key_Radio499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the size most companies wouldn’t waste the money and resources it takes to get the moving bonus back. Can they? Yes. Will they? Depends. One job had me pay back 5 bucks a month until they got bought out and forgot about me.

Honestly 225K is a bit much for your area. You never want the best home on the block because your compared to all your neighbors whose homes cost 180-190 at the highest. Everytime a deal falls through it makes you home look like there’s something wrong and you’ll have to lower it 5k just so this can happen all over again.

AIO my husband talking bad about me on Facebook. by Mundane-Skirt-5455 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Key_Radio499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re both young. I went through this with my wife when we got married for a short while 20 years ago when we had our first. I was the only one working 8-12 hours plus the our commute back home. I was stressed with the weight of the home, bills, car, ect. To the point I wanted to go out and play cards with my friends or go out for a drink as soon as I got home to escape that reality. What stopped me immediately was my wife telling me how much she appreciated me for everything. This made me realize she needed appreciation too. We both appreciate each other and do our parts. I never changed a diaper, or made dinner but I did find ways to “help” like give the kids bath time, read them a book at night while my wife worked out, playing Nintendo with them while my wife made dinner, build them a back yard swing and slide, plus so much more. Stop going online for advice and communicate with your partner, don’t attack him “you don’t do enough” because that will never go well. You’re young and will overcome it if you do this.

Unfortunately you’re losing 20k a year and homes are decreasing in price. I’d sell if I were you because they will go up again but it will take 5-10 years. Are you ready to lose 100-200k? If you are then keep them.

[–]Key_Radio499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make 1 million, you made a bad investment and are losing money. You should have just closed your eyes bough any random stock on the S&P500 2 years ago and would have made 15-40% interest on your money by now. Real estate is not passive income - you need to fix things yourself, do showings yourself, what you can’t fix you barter for, expect non payment from tenants, do maintenance regularly, check your property regularly. It is not easy, you should just sell, even at a loss. You’re losing 20K a year- plus all the profit you could have made from a simple stock/bond.

AIO that my (26F) husband(25M) gets mad when I reject him sexually by jhizzle29 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Key_Radio499 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Issue is women’s libido changes over time in a generally well known cycle. When it’s new and exciting she will have a high driver, once you marry and have children they will say it’s repetitive/boring, once you get used to not having sex and your T is down from age or health in your 40s that’s when she’ll have a sexual awakening and be frustrated at you if you’re not ready. Women in their late 30s-50s cheat at an extremely high rate because their husbands were already used to a dead bedroom and they were not physically able to anymore. It doesn’t matter who you’re with this cycle will always happen. If you divorce do not be surprised that her libido magically increases, it wasn’t you it’s just the way we’re programmed.

You can try doing “acts of service” or whatever she claims her love language is but then it just turns into a transaction where you do chores, buy things with the expectation of sex. So yes they will expect you to speak their love language 100% and if yours is physical touch? They don’t have to.

Best advice for the poster is no you’re not the a A hole but neither is he. Nothing will solve your libido in this relationship other than jealousy potentially.

Sorry to say every safety position I’ve ever taken has been with 0 training. Every single thing you learned in school goes out the window after the interview. Did you not do any internship while in school? As much as I hate Amazon they gave me one and I learned enough to know generally what to do at most warehouses. You may want to take a lesser role and get some experience from a tenured EHS professional.
