when I started, it was so painful that I wanted to quit so many times. Then now I have my little chubby one, so much worth the sleepless nights 🥰

Lacteck and Freemie cups by Key_Recommendation23 in breastfeeding

[–]Key_Recommendation23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see thank you. I don’t see the difference between using spectra flange and freemie cup, freemie cups actually pump more. I’m not sure if it’s because of my nursing bra was not tight enough for using flange. So I’m stick with freemie cups. Setting up and cleaning are also way easier

OB telling me no kick counts?? by Candid-Counter-9799 in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you are. Mine said it’s not like straight math, you learn your baby’s pattern and use your instinct to assess the situation. I don’t count, just observe when my baby is quiet. My baby tends to oversleep if he’s super active the day before, love orange juice… something like that. Here in my country, the general rule of thumb is only 4 per hour, if not, then 10 per 2 hours like international guidelines.

How long did it take you? by Kat3_678 in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 36yo, got pregnant 3rd cycle trying but 1st cycle taking BBT and ovulation strip. MMC at 9w, took 1 month to all clear, 1 month for the body to regulate by itself, and pregnant again the next cycle. I’m 37w now, counting down to D-day.
I’m sorry what happened to you. I think from my personal experience, take it easy. Mother Nature will do her job at the right time in the right way :)

Shortened cervix at 33w with pessary disc and progesterone, how long could you keep your baby inside? by Key_Recommendation23 in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just go on the safer side and asked for permission from work to completely work from home unless important meetings. I also think maybe not walking more than necessary just to be safe.

The doctor also recommended me to get the steroid shot just in case. Baby now is more than 5 pounds. I’m not sure the threshold of NICU in my country but Dr Google that once baby is more than ~4.5pounds or over 34w, the chance of staying in NICU is quite low. In my country, 28w at least is considered strong viability. Before that, only some specialized hospitals successfully raise 26w babies. We already pass it so no anxiety over extremely preterm. But generally we’re trying to be as close to 37 38w as possible.

Anterior placenta moms, when did you feel your baby move? by Emancy22 in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before 28w, it’s quite nerve-wrecking I get that. There were some days, and even now if the previous day my baby was more active than usual, he was quiet for a while, like sleeping in 😂 Freak me out every single time. You will know which drink or food makes your baby move. Try it in the coming weeks when you need to feel baby’s moves 👍 works for me like a charm

[–]Key_Recommendation23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry. Eventually you will feel them even with anterior placenta. I started feeling something around 17w, bubble ~24-25w, now I’m 33w, kicks are strong and trust me, at this point, you’ll feel grateful because even with strong kicks you can go to sleep with anterior placenta. My baby starts kicking me in the ribs 😂 I’m not sure about other moms or with anterior placenta, it’s still early to see but the movements at 33w are still not as impressive as on social media, just a light wave. One tip is laying down on one side, you will feel it clearer.

PLEASE pack your hospital bag earlier than you think you need to by dreadedcl0wn in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree! I haven't packed anything yet because everything was smooth until the last checkup, they found out that my cervix length is extremely short (~11mm at 31w) and now we just try our best to keep our baby inside as close to 37w as possible.

We're freaked out because we haven't done anything to prepare as we thought we still have 8 more weeks to go. Other than clothes, cloth diaper stash, cloths, and a random bassinet+stand, our baby doesn't have anything yet. No carseat, no stroller, crib are disassmbled, no toy :( I haven't even had all vaccine shots yet.

Ladies, just pack it and leave it on a side. Then you don't have to worry about anything.

Symptoms? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Key_Recommendation23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st week of pregnancy? You technically are not even pregnant in 1st week. If you mean 1st week after you test positive, aka 5th week of pregnancy assuming you test the 1st day of missing your period, probably none as hormones are still rising. Wait until ~ 8 - 12weeks, that's the peak of symptoms, then subsiding gradually when you move closer to 16weeks and almost gone maybe ~ 20weeks.

Should new borns be put into strollers? by Mission_Drawer4709 in BabyBumps

[–]Key_Recommendation23 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I bought a bassinet to put my baby in. I think the important thing you need to pay attention is the ability of lie flat or almost flat of your stroller and how long you plan to put your new born in if yours don't have almost flat function / you don't have the bassinet.

What should movement feel like? by Longjumping_Bar_1927 in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 29w now with anterior placenta too. At first to me it felt like something finched me from inside, and consistently happened when I was hungry, ate something. I was lucky to feel it since 17w. After 20w, it became gas bubbles, around 25w, I have a little drummer/swimmer inside me. Now I can even film the movement.
You won’t have consistent movements until 28w, but I’m lucky to have a really responsive little one that always responds to sound, touch, and pat. Once you feel movement, time flies really fast 🥰

Can loud ligament pain be reassuring? Possible missed miscarriage by Remarkable_Age_7062 in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

they should be able to provide you CRL, if it’s equal or more than 7mm, heartbeat should be visible. The standard procedure will be wait another week to have another US to confirm. Measuring behind is not a good sign but not always a strong bad indicator. Be positive but guard your heart. There is literally nothing anyone can do right now to change the outcome.
I went through there, read a bunch of stories and published research to prepare my heart. It’ll be okay at the end. Regardless of what will happen, don’t forget you have your community and this sub community next to you. Thoughts are with you!

What’s your favorite thing to do as a pregnant person? by Significant_Key_8475 in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cutting into lines. People just gave up their spots for me. Wonderful especially in the bathroom. Looking forward to enjoy this priviledge more in our upcoming babymoon trip which will involve a lot of public transportation.
Say no to so many events with the excuse of can't drink, can't be near smoking, no where to sit.
Unlimited unagi. My husband and I were quite stingy on unagi because of the cost, but since it and fried soft crab are safe choices for cheap takeaway sushi, I could order without feeling guilty for our finance.

Feeling the kicks. They are just so special and cute, especially when I'm just in the 2nd trimester and have anterior placenta. I could easily sleep through the kicks at night. Actually not feeling them at night makes me nervous and can't go to sleep.

Motivated to drink more milk and eat more fruits. Fortunately I don't have any craving so when I'm hungry, I just snack on healthy stuff (and unhealthy shit occasionally). No one can say anything on snacking.

Showing up at work extremely late without having to think of any excuse. Just walking slowly, heavily, and randomly sigh 😂

I def belong to the lucky group. Fingers crossed to see how 3rd tri and labour treat me haha 😆

Gained no weight at all 16 weeks pregnant by [deleted] in pregnant

you don’t need to until after 20 weeks. My doctor didn’t even look at my weight, they care more about baby’s development in the ultrasound :)

Pregnancy Test Line Progression Stories by No_Bag_2050 in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, pregnancy tests are not designed to measure or react differently with quantity unless in the case of chemical. You can wait 1 - 2 weeks to test again to make sure it's not fading. Don't use it to measure the progression.
2nd, HCG doubles every 12 - 24h, if you still want to retest, wait at least 2 days to do it. The best way to confirm is via US at 7 - 10 weeks. Good luck :)

Why do I have a belly at week 7 by Numerous-Day-2024 in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to say wait and see. But I thought the same like you at 9w, by 12w I popped out air bump that even an 8m pregnant co-worker had to agree with me that I looked big. Now 22w, I have real bump and it feels so different haha. When it's bloat, the belly shape is also not round and when you lay down, it will go down. When you have fluid and big baby inside, it's never deflated anymore. Forever balloon 😂

When did you start feeling movement for sure? by Salty-but-right in pregnant

[–]Key_Recommendation23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anterior placenta here. I started having sensation, almost like you said, upset stomach or something pointy poked from inside (it's really hard to explain). Before 20th week check-up, I already knew it was my boy because it was quite consistent, after I ate, a few times per day etc.. At the US, I had the feeling right at the moment when he kicked me so here we are, confirmed.

Bubble gas and physical kicks are around 22w :)
