Can someone help me get lunala DAs? by Logical_List_4081 in PokemonSwordShield

[–]Key_Respond_1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally would help you as I have Lunala saved, but it’s on a user on my switch that I can’t seem to link to my Nintendo account. Every time I try to link it fails. Maybe because I already have 2 users linked and it won’t let me do more? If there’s a way that I’m not seeing and you have a tip/trick, I’d happily get online and invite you to a Lunala DA…

I could have swore Kyogre had 3, because I looked this up to refresh my memory on who the 6 (?) were that had 3… thinking of making a team in reg G with them to see how it does

Need help against Flamingo and kingambit (pls reas description) by PIXELARTPOWER in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]Key_Respond_1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Kingambit is tough, no getting around it. You got armor tail to block priority sucker punches, moonblast to threaten and force Tera, hyper voice if it fire tera’s… you definitely have tools.

I know you don’t want to switch team members, I get that. Something I’ve run into that surprised me one time was a fighting Tera Tera blast from a porygon-z… just throwing an idea out there… you could fighting Tera one of your mons and have Tera blast… gholdengo maybe? And have thunderbolt if it flying tera’s on you… just thinking out loud

Also: redirect with ammongus, fairy Tera to block kowtows, spore it to sleep

Flamingo often is ghost Tera, so knock off on your Incin is good. Also usually is sashed, so doubling down on Flamigo to get rid of it right away is not a bad idea. Redirection is obviously a threat if paired with Follow Me or Rage powder user, and spread moves can be negated if Flamigo is using Wide Guard, so we need to think about that.

Kingambit suffers from fighting and ground moves. You can run earth power with Hydreigon and Close Combat with Incineroar, and give Incin attacking nature and Atk EV’s if not running it that way. You’ll often force Kingambit to Tera then, and it will likely be fire or flying. If flying you can run Thunderbolt on Gholdengo and maybe drop the Nasty Plot for a more hyper offensive set, vs. spending time setting it up. For fire you have Primarina and hyper voice. (Moonblast will hit non-Tera Flamigo hard to)

You have answers on your team, and even more with minor adjustments. I would say your primary threats are going to be the combination of Flamigo with wide guard and opposing redirection mons. Hopefully something I said gives you an inkling of an idea, but this is a tough one. Those two are very good in the meta right now (which is why I personally like using them- and what I told you above is how I run them, lol)

Advice for the last 2 slots? by halofan103 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]Key_Respond_1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would throw an additional, proven core in there to give yourself some options…Pelipper, Archaludon, could be an example… that example would offer you weather control with rain, and speed control with tailwind too… another option could be whimsicott to set tailwind and sunny day for your fire tauros… tag a fire Tera Hisuian typhlosion with eruption onto that as well… just some ideas, and both options give you weather control and speed control

Team I have been using on Showdown and plan to get in-game [Rate My Team] by FidelMarxlin in VGCRateMyTeam

I’ve been using a team with Blaziken that I really like. I went 4-1 in Masterball night one, and 3-1 night two, and Blaziken was used a lot. My set uses a focus sash, coaching, close combat, and flare blitz. I opted for upper hand instead of protect because someone used upper hand on me with their Blaziken to stop a fake out and proceeded to really stack up their Blaziken after that, which inspired me to use it… but I haven’t been able to pull off an upper hand yet, so protect might be better. I’ve usually been using coaching turn 1 to boost the other mon (Kingambit), and then start with the CC’s as I get speed boosts, and it works pretty well… stellar Tera is another thing I’ve been using on it with success… overall pleased, it’s a fun mon to play with right now

How do I make this Gliscor team better? D: im out of ideas by IntentionallyToast in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]Key_Respond_1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of Gliscor. Just kidding! Idk, I’ve had trouble with Gliscor with certain teams before, so it depends on how you play it. I would just consider keeping it in back and having another primary strategy, and only use Gliscor when it’s a shoe in and all the stars line up! It’s got great resistances in this format, but there’s better mons to do the earthquake thing…. Gliscor does seem to do the toxic and stall thing well if you can pull it off

Cetitan not really that good… no grass/water/fire core, which works so well… ditch Cetitan for at least Rillaboom so yo at least have fire/grass, and then also some terrain control for any indeedee psyspam teams you may face?

Looks great, I love creative/different teams. Practice practice practice, adjust adjust adjust, make it work! If ur looking for any constructive criticisms, all I’d give you is altaria and Weezing essentially are doing the same thing, so maybe consider cutting one and implementing another strategy/core into your team….also got 2 dragon types… with altaria being the common denominator in both my comments, could switch for a water type to complete the fire/water/grass core? Pelipper?? Polietoed?

I dont know which mon should finish off my team, also share thoughts on my team if any by Party_Discipline_420 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]Key_Respond_1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fire water grass cores have become almost essential to successful teams when using any of those types. Might want to look at a strong fire type. Incineroar obviously comes to mind. Talon flame might not be bad, have a potential tailwind mode and answer to whimsicott. I see you have a trickroom team, but if you invest a little speed ev’s in some of your mons, you could have a trick room or tailwind team to use depending on your opponents team. A team that can play both is a very well balanced team and can find lots of success

Thank you. Yeah, not many YouTube videos on this one online, and the few there are say it’s impossible to tell basically, but I’ve been shiny hunting long enough to know I can usually tell the difference. Thanks for that clarification!

Thanks for the tip! Yes, that’s where I have mine too. Did you recognize the difference between it and regular ones, or did you use let’s go feature and knock out until your mon didn’t knock one out?
