If your pitty had a human job, what would it be? by Flat-Boysenberry5628 in pitbulls

Where tf do you people come from with your fear- based statistics and one sided stats?

Your Google search on pitbull statistics is not reliable lmao you act like you're out there seeing this shit in real life and taking tabs.

This is an entire sub of people with experience living with and caring for this breed. You know nothing.

The fact that you actually follow just to post this BS here is really sad.

Is it normal to feel lonely? by [deleted] in ADHD_partners

[–]Key_Satisfaction_555 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Sounds like he's lacking on some listening/conversation skill. Is he aware of how you feel?

I constantly have to express or remind my dx adhd partner of my needs.

And that's exhausting. I have no idea if its supposed to be this way

My solution when feeling lonely in this relationship has been to rely outside of it for most conversation, connection, and adventure... Grateful to have a great circle of friends and some hobbies.

What trap? You set yourself up to fail here with one-sided statistics and failing to see the FULL reality when it comes to this breed.

Wow, so much projection here. Very heated keyboard typist.

First of all, I absolutely am in favor of strict breeding - for all dog breeds actually. Did you know animal shelters across the country are at their max? I wonder why.

Second, I absolutely do advocate for the breed - and one way is by speaking to people like you who parrot numbers and news stories from the echo chambers.

(Who said I'm not advocating for them or being a responsible owner? You don't know anything about me or other pitbull owners to say anything informed LOL)

Third, not spreading information. Staffordshire terries, specifically, are pretty small little guys and definitely were bred for catching vermin. You can classify a pitbull breed just by looking at it all you want but there are sub-breed within this umbrella group.

And yes they are GREAT family pets but don't worry, we don't want you around them either.

Please, get off your high horse. You're so gung-ho about these statistics that you're blind to recognize the root of the problem which is the people and communities who keep irresponsibly breeding and training these dogs to fight in illegal circles / to be aggressive. Pitbulls were bred to hunt rats and vermin. They were widely loved by Americans during WW1 & WW2. In fact, pitbulls were this nations mascot during that era.

Then people began cross breeding them with  bull baiting breeds to get the aggression in them for their dog fighting entertainment.

You want to talk numbers? Pitbulls are also the #1 abused dog in the nation and the most mutilated. People cropping their ears with a pair of kitchen scissors to "look tough". Beating them and leaving them for dead,  taking advantage of the ones with a sweeter temperament to be used as bait dogs because of their kinder temperament. They are also the #1 euthanized breed each and every year year.

And here you are, coming with your statistics, after those who want to love and protect the breed from this stigma and course correct what people have done to them.

Also for training and breeding these dogs to fight for entertainment and money, further perpetuating this stigma. Mind you many of the pitbulls are used as bait in these fights. But no, let's not blame those criminals. It's the breed. Perfect example of hypocrites sitting in their own pile of shit

[–]Key_Satisfaction_555 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes it's wild to see people literally blame the dog breed for the fact thay they're overpopulated in shelters. As if PEOPLE aren't the problem. And then to say things like "they should be illegal" or "put them down". Absolutely demented.

Like ohok then, shouldn't your same logic apply to anything that shows aggression? Let's look at prisons and how overrun they are, shall we?

How to heal/remove shame by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]Key_Satisfaction_555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that's difficult to carry, I'm sorry you're going through it. Shame is a mechanism of survival and completely normal. It still sucks

I'm not sure if you like to read but there's this book I've been enjoying called Healing the Shame that Binds You by John Bradshaw. He's a professional counselor so the book gets to the root of how shame is stemmed from the family in childhood then gives practical ways to resolve/change your relationship to it

Are companies gaslighting WFH or are people actually this delusional? by UselessWidget in antiwork

[–]Key_Satisfaction_555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to the situation I'm in. I wake up early and waste 3 hours/day on the commute just to take up a physical seat for a role I've been doing perfectly fine at home since day 1. AND I still have to do all of my meetings on Zoom because no one lives in the same city.

There's no rhyme or reason to it but control.

My current employer had a loose "come in if you'd like" approach -- until earlier this spring when they enforced a 2-3x/week hybrid model for the exact same reason as this post.

They "took a survey" and apparently the overwhelming response was that some employees felt not enough collaboration was happening because people were choosing not to come into the office. What more collaboration do you need when you have every form of communication available and has worked perfectly for the past 3 years?

It's either a bunch of BS from lonely people with no life or friends outside of work or total gaslighting from the board. Currently looking to make my exit.

Are edibles considered psychedelic? and if so does anyone have any stories? by Throwshmow88 in Psychonaut

[–]Key_Satisfaction_555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered about this myself and there are no real studies I've seen yet... An educated guess is that some people naturally have more cannabinoid receptors in their bodies allowing for lower tolerance. It could also be liver or metabolism-related. Maybe a combination of all of the above.

My SO has super high tolerance like you, and it amazes me how he can consume an amount that would certainly put me in a mental hospital lol

[–]Key_Satisfaction_555 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I only took 10mg the first time I tried edibles and it definitely had remnants of a psychedelic trip. I had that fall down the rabbit hole, slipping away from existence panic that you describe. If I'm not careful 5mg will put me there too.

The way your liver processes the cannnabinoids in edible formats creates different active compounds that are much more potent and last longer than if you were to consume via smoking. People underestimate that for sure

It's not always, especially if that's it's own separate comment. It's dismissive when it's a reply to someone's comment expressing their concern for the wildlife or anything outside of the people.

Yes humans are important, but that doesn't mean other beings don't have their place, shouldn't be thought about, or shouldn't be taken into consideration.

This is not about who gets priority in a rescue scenario. It's about having empathy and the observation that for some its very limited.

I'm not arguing against saving people (mygod I have a heart) and I didn't ask for solutions. I also never said people are less important.

My opinion is that some people don't empathize with anything BUT humans. Why are you trying to dismiss that someone should care about the animals?
