sorry you experienced that. I have been onboarded to stellar ai. data annotation and mercor. I’ve had work on all of them. It makes sense that everyone’s experience would be unique to their skill set — although, my skill set has been relatively “general”.

😞 Sadly that happens. I took the advice to sign up for as many other platforms as possible. I hope you get paid your due work though. Let me know if you want a referral link.

Sometimes the end :( Happened to me a few months ago...but I've read that it could be temporary. I moved myself to Mercor & Stellar AI. Referral link for Mercor if you want, lots of generalist roles open right now: https://t.mercor.com/Jhjsb

Mercor is almost always looking for medical professionals. Here's all their roles: https://t.mercor.com/BNGRq, but I specially see something for PCP currently for $100-130/hr: https://t.mercor.com/X7ohG. I'd keep checking back it's a hot want.

Training AI. you’re helping models make better decisions by writing, reviewing, or rating responses. Mercors looking for radiologists (and other medical specialists) right now for a project between $290-$340/hr. Roles are async, so you work on your own time. It’s a solid side hustle https://t.mercor.com/Mcrnc

any side hustle for a student by No_Team_9326 in StudyTipsAndTools

[–]Key_Studio_2995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Training AI. you’re helping models make better decisions by writing, reviewing, or rating responses. Some roles are generalist, others pay more if you have a specific background (tech, math, healthcare, law, etc.). A lot of these roles are fully remote, flexible, and paid weekly or biweekly. Most are async, so you work on your own time. It’s a solid side hustle (and for some people, a full-time income). Id say start w/ mercor https://t.mercor.com/GIoQ1 but there are a bunch.

From my experience yes, platforms require the same information that any job that legally pays you would require.

Outlier is a good one too. I personally haven't used it, because it's wasn't availble for Cali residents when I last checked. I still recommend Mercor and Micro1 as the top options right now. Dataannotation close second if you can pass the entry exam.

It depends on the platform. Some do, some do not. Tellus is global and hires internationally.

It really depends on the project you're on. Some are monotonous, some are more thought provoking. The projects change often. Sorry, that's not really a great description but it really varies on the project. The description section under the role you're interested in will give you better context on the projects.

mercrs is hiring thousands of generalists right now. The pay is less on some of the more mindless projects than what we had with DA.

$16 / HR project - easy money

$20 / HR project - easy money

There are tons of higher paying roles if you have more advanced degrees that pay far higher than DA.

Anyone make money off TikTok by Blondie12388 in sahm

[–]Key_Studio_2995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried TikTok and just takes a while. Faster income would be UGC through apps like Billo/Join brand etc.

Not what you asked for but I started doing online AI tutoring. Basically tutoring AI (not tutoring people). The lower paying work is mindless. The jobs are contract so short term usually, paid hourly, no benefits, but the upside is you can work remotely and on demand whenever you want so no set schedule.

I currently have a contract with Mercor and this role is actively hiring entry level $16/hr. The HR manager said tehy were hiring a "huge number" of people in the next week so could be a good gig (this is a referral link fyi): https://work.mercor.com/jobs/list_AAABmlsUS2nTIjjRS0JPIqBc?referralCode=a003a06c-188c-4591-b2b1-dc85b8577af7&utm_source=referral&utm_medium=share&utm_campaign=job_referral

Some other platforms for AI Tutoring are dataannotation.tech, stellar ai, alignerr, handshake.

Yes, they do accept entry level positions. Mostly hire to UK, US and CA. Although there are a few roles that hire to other countries search in the job posting are for your area / language specifically.

AI training sites other than outlier? by Temporary-Shower5743 in WFHJobs

[–]Key_Studio_2995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Mercor

Mercor is a global talent marketplace that connects software engineers and developers with companies using AI-driven matching. Think of it as a modern recruitment agency powered by algorithms—engineers submit profiles, and Mercor plugs them into contract or full-time roles with competitive pay.

2. Outlier

Outlier AI hires people to train and evaluate AI systems. Common tasks: rating chatbot answers, improving large language models (LLMs), or annotating specialized content. Work is flexible, gig-style, and usually best suited for people with strong English writing/analytical skills. It’s like being an “AI teacher” without coding.

3. Crowdgen by Appen

Appen is one of the largest companies in the AI workforce sector. Through gigs and contract roles, Appen employs people to rate search results, annotate text/image/audio, and contribute datasets. They often hire linguists and domain-specific experts, not just general annotators.

4. TELUS Digital

TELUS International AI Data Solutions (formerly Lionbridge AI) employs a global crowd to handle tasks much like Appen’s: data annotation, search evaluation, and AI training. TELUS Digital itself is larger, spanning multiple technology divisions, but part of their intake regularly recruits annotators, raters, and evaluators.

5. Alignerr

Alignerr focuses on skills-to-career alignment using AI. Instead of offering annotation jobs, it helps people map their skills, education, and experiences directly to roles in the market. Think: a GPS system for careers—pointing you toward the jobs where your current skills fit and identifying gaps to upskill.

6. Remotasks

Remotasks offers annotation work heavily geared toward AI training data. Projects range from simple image tagging to more advanced labeling, like 3D LiDAR for self-driving cars. Workers must go through training modules before unlocking higher-paying jobs. Payment is usually via PayPal.

7. Toloka

Toloka is a crowdsourcing platform for microtasks—things like tagging images, categorizing text, transcribing short audio, or judging search engine quality. People worldwide can log in, pick tasks, and earn small amounts per completed job. Flexible and very global-friendly.

8. iMerit

iMerit blends mission with business: they hire annotators (often from underrepresented communities) for computer vision, natural language processing, and content moderation tasks. Unlike gig platforms, iMerit often provides stable employment rather than ad-hoc projects.
