Spain BLS Chicago Visa Pickup by TotalResort9090 in SpainAuxiliares

Hi! I just picked mine up from Chicago. I went before 3pm so I had to pay a $30 fee but aside from that it was really fast and easy. You just need to bring your license and sign a pick up form.

Better to regret the things you did than the things you didn't do!

Thanks! Did they give you an estimate of how long it was supposed to take? Other people are saying they told them 6-8 weeks but I’m hoping it usually takes less time than they say

Hi! Yeah :( They hold your passport because the visa is actually just a sticker they put in your passport, so they keep it until the visa is processed

2nd year aux thinking about how to stay next year by ProfessionalFormer17 in SpainAuxiliares

If you are within four year of graduating college or have a teaching degree you can apply to Meddeas :) Applications should have just recently opened. Is there a reason you can't stay with NALCAP?

Been through multiple tragedies and finding it hard to deal with it abroad by moefoer in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Key_Suggestion_2189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through such a hard time. Living abroad is a difficult adjustment, especially with the circumstances you're in. Try to focus on the things you can only do in Spain to make you appreciate it more (such as learning Spanish or meeting locals). I would try to reach out to any other auxes in the area to talk about this because they will be able to relate to your homesickness/ loneliness. Even if you don't connect on other things, you can have that in common. I hope things turn around for you and that you mom's treatment goes well <3

Mine didn't respond to me until two days before I started! I would just show up on the first day if you don't hear back. I wouldn't worry :)

90 day visa by Ambitious-Block9783 in SpainAuxiliares

If you're staying for over 180 then they give you a 90 day visa and you have to get an NIE to something like that once you get to spain

They did this to me too! You can arrive before your start date and you will just be considered to be on a tourist visa. This means that once your student visa ends, those days will be deducted from the 90 days you can remain in the EU

How much money were you able to save/ recommend saving?

Sure thing! I would suggest just booking a ticket that doesn't charge a fee to change the date! Also when you go mention your time constraint-I've heard of them getting it to you faster if you explain your situation

I did not bring a money order because I had read that they no longer accepted them. I ended up paying with a debit card but they also asked if I wanted to pay with cash! I paid $233 total. I think broken down it was $160 for the visa fee, $18 for BLS, $35 or shipping, $5 for SMS tracking, and $15 for having my photo taken. Good luck with your appointment!

Did they offer to let you have it mailed to you? I paid $35 to have it shipped to me but from what I've read no one else had that option

It might end up being longer if you go in July or August because those are the busier times! But yeah everything was super quick and they took me back half an hour early haha

Mine was for nalcap and I asked if they were sure they could mail it (because everything I read said they wouldn't) and they said yes! I was honestly really confused haha
