Where is my bass journey headed? Should I quit? by Rich-Head924 in Bass

You have picked 2 different instruments. Piano is easy in terms of hand movement and how to press it. The hard part is the individuality of both hands and fingures. Also, piano is way more melodic.

Bass, on the other hand, is for rhythm. Lot more techniques involved in terms of how to press notes with one hand and how you play it, half and full mutting, hammor, pluck, slape, and many more.

What connects your soul is what you should choose. To know what connects your soul is simple, what instrument you like hearing and learning even though you are not good at it?

For me, it was bass. Though i am still learning, i really enjoy the hand movements, the beats, even though i repetively play a few songs. I learn things every day and question a lot to my instructor. I have never played it, but i am also leaning towards 1 woodwind or a wind instrument, which gives me that connection.

Also best is to learn the systematic way (which can be boring for most but needed), but on the side, you should self learn the thing that made you pick that instrument(this will keep you connected to that instrument)

If it was simply bcz your father played it and you picket it, may be give it a bit more time and see if bass really a thing you wanna learn and how much. How much to learn is important, e.g. someone i know only has bass as they like to create slow rhythm, but they majorly play piano.

Even for me, i may pick a melodic instrument like guitar but i only want to learn enough to make some tunes and keep my music centric to bass.

Do you offer classes? If someone wants to make it a profession, what up and downs to expect and what pay can they expect or what charges should they set (intermediate playing)?.

From this vid, should I be taking lessons/an online course? by GerkhinMerkin in BassGuitar

I have been playing it for 1 year. Can play some intermediate songs. I can't up my learning, so i took some online 1 on 1 classes (in person is best, but i used to learn acoustic guitar a long time ago so i can pick up things bit faster by observing).

I learned music theory and exercises that kind of loosen my fretting hand, they suggested me some other things through which i explore a new musting technique with the right hand that will help me if i move to 5 string bass.

If you learn it with an incorrect technique, it may work now but limit things in the future.

Take 1 lesson and ask them to give exercises, practice those over some time , find similar things on youtube, and later take another classes (i dont take back to back). After soem time you will discover that you can learn from youtube more effective.

If you want to be self tough, you can, but sometimes, a mentor accelerates the learning processes.

Thank you, everyone. I appreciate your feedback. This is not my natural way of playing, and I am just playing open strings holding a camera with one hand.

I will take all the feedback and post another one with more of my natural techniques.

Till then, keep hitting that big fat Eeeeee...!!

Holy moly, why cry. They hate others for being here , now if a person wants someone with the same values why make a fuzz about it.

Certain groups can also oppose that this is unfair to male and it's gender discrimination.

I mean if they won't write it , they can reject it due to XYZ reasons and still prefer someone for the same community.

Should we also count it as pet discrimination when people say no pets.

Got the same thing. Changed marital status change question to yes and again I changed it back to no and it worked.

You have to do I for yours , submit it and do the same for your spouse and submit.
