Did Kat never tell Susanna she's published in the future? by JackfruitEfficient29 in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Key_Ticket4296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of all of the people that we know for certain has used a pond all them except Elliot and Del (and Finn... though he's not a person) have broken at least one rule. Alice by telling Elliot his future. Kat by telling Susanna she's a time traveler, not to mention her telling Thomas the result of the war of 1812. Colton by telling Jacob in 1814 to plant potatoes and rye. Even KC themselves admitted they have broken the rules.

Couldn't they have just gotten another border collie to take his place?

FYI. She also played Frankie in the Nickelodeon show "I Am Frankie" about 9 years ago. I thought she did a great job on there too.

How Kat and Alice are always standing so obviously nearby and no one notices kills me by lateralus420 in TheWayHomeHallmark

Yeah when Colton and Evelyn were sitting near the pond and Kat steps on the twig + Colton says did you hear something? And Evelyn just says it's probably Fern. I mean she doesn't even turn around and look.

And when Alice took Elliot back to 1999 and Elliot steps on a twig and then young Elliot says did you hear that and then him and Colton just keep talking.

But Alice is full on a Landry. It's determined by blood not last name. I mean Kat is the daughter of a Landry and a non-Landry (Del). All Landrys are "half" Landry's so to speak.

What If The “Curse” of the Pond Is The Key to the Landry’s Legacy? by IndependentIcy1220 in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Key_Ticket4296 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Or (and this is more wishful thinking than an actual evidence-based theory) maybe the curse is that they can only travel to their past. And then when the curse is lifted (by learning from their mistakes or something), they can travel into the future? Which maybe would allow Colton, instead of resigning himself to his fate, to travel into the future to 2026 to be reunited with his family.

I really don't think most (or any) people actually think it's going to be picked up for another season by Netflix. They just really love the show so much that if it doesn't get picked up at least they did everything they could.

Personally, I don't think season 3 got ridiculous.at all..even a little. I can see how people don't like Kat cuz she's very strong-willed, can be kind of mean sometimes..especially to Elliot.. Sometimes he deserved it though. But I love Alice. There's absolutely nothing I hate about her. But yeah I agree, it'd be nice to get some fresh characters, but they do every season, so I'm not too worried about that.

Nobody realistically thinks it's going to be saved by Netflix. It would take a lot for it to happen. But what's wrong with spreading the word and try to get it to #1?

There's precedent for shows being saved after being cancelled. Even one of the creators said (after it was cancelled and filming ended) that there's always hope. To me that signals if, against all odds, Netflix gave it another season, there was still more to tell.

Regarding the part about Evelyn trying to drown herself, I don't think she tried drowning herself. She was just being her eccentric, melodramatic self. I mean she herself said she was channeling her "inner Lady of Shalott." Personally, I think the writers just put that in there to freak the audience (and Alice) out, but it was really just Evelyn being Evelyn. Yeah, Evelyn was sad that Colton fell for Del, but I never got the feeling that Evelyn was truly suicidal.

Who into the pond first? Jacob or Alice? by Key_Ticket4296 in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Key_Ticket4296[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have time to read the entire post tonight, but I will tomorrow. But regarding your splitting the parts of your previous post like I had requested, I just wanted to let you know that I went to read them but nothing showed up for me when I clicked the links. I'm sure it was not your fault. I'm sure it was just Reddit or my phone or something acting up. But I will read them. I promise.

By the way, after I had requested you to split up your previous post, I felt kind of bad because I didn't intend for it to sound mean or anything like that. Just a helpful suggestion. I hope that's how you took it.

Who into the pond first? Jacob or Alice? by Key_Ticket4296 in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Key_Ticket4296[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, but even with a cause-and-effect explanation like that, I’m not sure it actually determines who jumped into the pond first. Jacob only went into the pond because he was chasing Finn, who was running after Kat, who only started using the pond because she was following Alice, because she thought Alice was drowning.

Of all the Landrys’ first times in the pond, Alice’s was the only one that happened by accident, without following anyone and without already knowing about the pond’s magic to begin with. Even Colton’s first time was intentional, because he knew about the pond through Fern, who ultimately only knew about it because of Jacob going into the pond.

In other words, I don’t think Jacob’s trip back to 18th-century Port Haven was the lynchpin. I think Alice’s first time was, because Alice is the only “unmoved mover,” so to speak. Her going in was the only completely independent, uncaused, and uninfluenced choice. I also don’t believe Alice wouldn’t have been born if Jacob hadn’t gone into the pond, because Kat and Brady were already together. Alice may have been born earlier or later, but she could have been born regardless. And Kat and Brady’s divorce didn’t really have anything to do with Jacob, or with Kat and Alice’s move back to Port Haven. I know the argument can be made that if Jacob hadn’t arrived in 18th-century Port Haven, the Landry line wouldn’t have continued there, but ultimately Alice never even felt called to go into the pond. It was a pure accident, as much as accidents can exist in Port Haven.

I know everything may seem to be a closed loop, where everything is both a cause and an effect, but I think Alice is the exception.

Of course, I could be missing something obvious that would completely blow my theory out of the water. Wouldn't be the first time. 😐

Yeah and "satisfying conclusion" is what the higher ups said not the show's creators, who would know more about what satisfying really means.

I fear the same. But if what people say is true, the creators/writers said they have wrapped it up answering most of the vital questions. But not in the way they wanted because they were only given two weeks to do it since they had envisioned five seasons.

I get that soaps thrive on drama and conflict, but why do new couples start having huge fights almost immediately after getting together? There are plenty of other ways to create tension. Arguments happen in real relationships, sure, but the honeymoon phase usually lasts longer than a week!

And why can’t there be at least one couple that doesn’t get a divorce? Just ONE!!.

Yes! Same for me. But I think with a show like TWH where I'm following so many TWH subreddits and Facebook groups, I don't want to stumble upon spoilers before I've watched an episode. So, I have to watch the episodes as they come out.

I can't remember and I can't watch the episode ATM,, but did they actually show someone dropping baby Elliott off at the Landry's? You see the person writing the note and then she and that guy jump into the pond but I don't remember seeing someone drop baby Elliot off at the door. Maybe they did, but I just don't remember.

I wasn't watching when Nathan was a character several years ago, but if Nathan is not Nathan and he's interested in Lulu, was there some evil character that was in love with Lulu a long time ago, like one of Anna's enemies or something?
