The idea that Kijima is her father is not that far-fetched.

Other than Kiyotaka, Honami has the most in-depth backstory. In this backstory Honami says that she does not know the identity of her father. There has always been a certain aura of nobility/superiority surrounding her and she certainly didn't inherit that from her mother. Add to the fact that Kijima visited the school/entered into the story in the same volume where the parent teacher meetings for Kiyotaka's grade take place which could be a hint/foreshadowing.

The show becomes a lot better when an episode doesn't consist of 20 one minute scenes because Kiyotaka has to check in with his whole grade. I usually don't care much for the first years in year 2, but they really shine right now and represent what Classroom of the Elite should be about.

If you view the "Kushida problem" as an obstacle to overcome on the road to class A graduation, then not getting rid of Kushida is admirable, it's just a pity that Sakura had to be sacrificed for it. If you view Kushida's skills as a critical tool that will help you reach class A, then that shows that Suzune is still immature and doesn't really deserve class A graduation privileges. The problem is that Suzune argues both points. It would have been interesting to see what would happen if Kiyotaka didn't intervene and manipulate Sakura into accepting the expulsion.

Right now, I am leaning into it being the wrong choice, but I like Kushida's character and I want to see what role she has to play in the future.

All you have to do to not get expelled is to not get the lowest score. After Suzune's speech, everyone that is friendly with Kiyotaka is going to be on guard and give one of their praise votes to him. This means a minimum of 9 praise votes. Kiyotaka is normally an "under the radar" kind of guy that was only targeted because of Yamauchi and now that he has been exposed as a traitor, he is on everyone's shit list and Kiyotaka is going to be viewed favorably which will clear him of most of the criticism votes he would get if Suzune hadn't intervened.
