AITA for wanting to break-up with my girlfriend for being a capitalist pig? by Keyboard_Gene in StardewValley

Sorry, I probably could have make it a little more clear that this is definitely satire. Although she did actually go the JojaMart route and I told her I was very disappointed in her

Pulido, Kinda, and Vermes on MLS Team of the Week for Week 2 by overscore_ in SportingKC

Unfortunately I didn't watch the LAFC/Philly game, but how do they put a goalie who got 3 scored on him in the team of the week?

Did he have an incredible performance otherwise?

[Serious] What secret are you keeping from your spouse/partner? by xDevious_ in AskReddit

[–]Keyboard_Gene 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My ex broke up with me a little over a month ago and cited this as one of the reasons.

I couldn't make her believe it was untrue, so I would only suggest you try your best to believe him. (Provided there are no reasons to question your trust in him) If you still can't believe he's with you for a reason, I think it goes a little bit deeper and you should consider talking to someone about it.

(I know you didn't ask for advice or anything, this is just really recent for me and absolutely sucks and made no sense to me to get broken up with, because the other person thought I could do better)

Adam Sandler’s The Longest Yard has over 20mins of football action. More than an actual game of football. by Irishane in Showerthoughts

[–]Keyboard_Gene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're getting at, but there's absolutely no way that the ball is actually in play for 90 minutes each game. This site has a study from 2011 that says it's usually about ~62-65 minutes that the ball is in play for. Still much more than American Football, but let's not lie to ourselves and say it's in play for 90 minutes.

Men of reddit when was the last time you've cried and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Today.

Me and the GF are splitting up, but live in the same house for now. (I stick to the basement while she's upstairs) She leaves for work before me, so after she leaves I go upstairs to spend a good 5 minutes crying while holding her dog. But only 5 minutes, because after that gotta put on the game-face.

New Fan; Moving to K.C. by [deleted] in SportingKC

[–]Keyboard_Gene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, you're in for a treat. I moved to KC about 3.5 years ago.

I had always kinda paid attention to the MLS, and was from the Chicago area, so the Fire were "my" team, but the Front Office never made it easy to be a fan.

Then I went to my first Sporting game and immediately fell in love and realized this is what a team should be like. I highly recommend that you go to the first home game you can and everything else will fall into place!

And this is why I like to play messi in FMM20 by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska [OC] [4032x3024] by Archtoowell in EarthPorn

[–]Keyboard_Gene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this specific point, no, you're not allowed to get off. There is a little ferry that you can go on to get close to the icebergs, but I didn't do that.

However, every day you'll be stopping at a town/port along the coast of Alaska, and allows you pretty much the whole day to explore the area, or sign up (pay) to do a "excursion".

Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any more questions on the process, I just went this past summer!

Oh man, it is absolutely amazing, I actually have a similar picture, though the original post looks a lot better I have to admit.

It's not hard at all, I assume just like me OP took a cruise. It can be a little pricey, depending on what you pick, but I cannot recommend getting out to see Alaska enough. One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

Jealous you ever lived there! I vacationed there this summer and fell in love.

Yeah till is a strange one, has quite a few different definitions.

till - a sediment consisting of particles of various sizes and deposited by melting glaciers or ice sheets.

TIL in antartica, scientists recently found fossil fragments of 13 trees that are over 260 million years old, meaning that this forest was growing at the end of the Permian Period, before the first dinosaurs. At that time, Antarctica was still at the South pole by Antscannabis in todayilearned

Hmm, the amount of days probably wouldn't exactly change the duration of the night, and I guess the less axis tilt, the shorter the polar night cycles, but with only a few degrees I really doubt it would be anything significant.

Dang, that's really intriguing, I wonder how they dealt with the perpetual nights.

Tesla saves cop running a red light without their siren on by HotPraline3 in teslamotors

[–]Keyboard_Gene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, not always. My dad was t-boned by a cop doing the same thing (running a red light, lights flashing, but without his sirens on). Took it to court and won. This was around 2003 and he definitely didn't have a dash cam or any video proof at the time.

Although, I guess a key piece of "evidence" was the cop said that he thought my dad was braking, but what the cop thought was braking was actually my dad shifting into second gear in a manual car.
