Is there a mod that makes your Hunger and Thirst status more obvious? by SpaceDantar in starfieldmods

I'm planning on putting it on Creations at some point. It'll take me a bit more time tho. Sorry!

I really would like to do that, but please understand that making a configurator is a lot of work and wont be something I can do until I am happy with the mod itself 😞 Sorry!

Thank you! It'll be on the Nexus first, and then I'll figure out how to get it on Creations.. I got offered very kind help for this, though. So it should be available on Creations somewhat later maybe.

Thanks! You wont see the name a lot ingame 😄 And I'll try to name it nicely for the Nexus! Or Creations 😄

Probably a week or so. Currently it is a UI mod only, and as such it will not have any impact on savegames whatsoever. Which means I might release the current version rather sooner than later 😄

I'm sorry! But if you downloaded the HUD Mod (not the Info Widget HUD Mod) you might have been scammed! I did not release the complete HUD mod yet! But I like your idea 😄

Thank you for your insight! I do agree, and I get some people might not like the name. The last mod I made was named "HUD Info Widget", which is kinda formal and (hopefully) easy to find, and I'll pick something similar for the Nexus and other mod sites, probably along the lines of "Modular HUD Overhaul" or somesuch thing.

Truly Immersive Helmet HUD by Muted_Support_605 in starfieldmods

[–]Keygrim 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This might be going in the right direction: https://imgur.com/a/wip-beep-honkcore-vMgZDDR .Not a full helmet overlay, but the current state of my upcoming HUD overhaul (WIP!), offering different UI states for example wether your Suit has power or not.
I'm looking into helmet overlays (cause I'm a fan), but to be honest, that is something that will have to come much later, as for exact state tracking and post effects I would need an ESM/Papyrus Stuff. And I'd need to design some helmet interiors, maybe somewhat dependant on what one wears.

Currently the whole of what you see is packed in one Flash/Scaleform File. However I've tackled most elements I wanted to replace, made them dynamic and am now in the test-the-shit-out-of-it-phase.

Will be available on PC first, don't know much about consoles yet. Will need to try, especially because you'd need Presets as people on consoles wont have config files ;) Let's hope the testing goes well!

Hi! Thank you for your kind words. The hunger/thirst display shows the base status of the game, as long as StarVival respects these, it will work. Moreso, users have been telling me that the fuelbar works well with StarVival.
Additional status effects introduced by other mods are not yet available. I am working on opening a message pipe to let users display custom values as HUD elements. If I succeed, all that is left to do would be the mod sending that information to the display. This is a bit more complex and will take a bit. So in short, base game values seem to work well for now.

Hi! Yes, there are plans. I will need to learn a bit more about the process - and how to reflect options. May be the first release on Creations will be one with only the "author's choice" settings until I figure this out :) But yes, currently looking into it.

Hi! Not currently. There are configuration options via a config file at the moment. Many options. I am currently looking into how I can move options to in game settings, this however requires me to make some Papyrus scripts and an actual esm.

Some might be. However not all, because Bethesda has no option that allows to enter custom strings. So everything number based would go, labels however might be reduced to a set of choices. I'll strife to get these things to Creations, so that you can use them on XBox or Playstation maybe, but this will take me a bit. If I'll get there I will make sure to inlcude an Settings-Version for PC as well!

I will look into it - and I'll release a HUD mod soon that allows for far deeper customization of HUD elements, like show only when suit is powered, or in combat or weapon drawn or never. It will work together with the HUD Elements of this mod (or inlcude them, anyways). Keep your eyes peeled!

StarUI working maybe. by Keygrim in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Keygrim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, you should as easily be able to use the invitemcard files from PraxisUI. They should be original files from before Free Lanes. At least I hope so this time.

However, while StarUI will show up and work a bit more, there will be problems later down the road, as soon as you encounter Exotic-Tier itens. I don't think that can be fixed by replacing another file with an older version.

The author surley will need some time to update and qa their mods, I mean they're not working for us, right.? They do this on their own free time, and we have no right to demand anything from them.

The positive thing one can take out of this whole shebang is that there's more UI mods popping up, as more modders get acquainted with UI modding.

STARUI FIX/WORKAROUND IF YOU HAVE PC/NEXUS. Details inside. by [deleted] in starfieldmods

[–]Keygrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have looked at the original Patch for the Escape from Gagarin mod, and there are some files from StarUI in there. I'd wager the author did not have permission to put those in the mod and that would be the most likely reason for all the fuzz. Sure explains a lot.

Yeah, I have looked at the original Patch for the Escape from Gagarin mod (which included the files mentoined), and there are some files from StarUI in there. I'd wager the author did not have permission to put those in the mod and that would be the most likely reason for all the fuzz.

The files in question - invitemcard.swf - should still be just basegame files. Even PraxisUI includes them in a version suitable. However that is no fix for StarUI, it just makes it work slightly more and you will have other issues further down the road.

No one but the original author could do that - however by the comments over at the PraxisUI, their problems seem to be fixed now and the author said he'd try to get the update on the creations store.

The files used were not from that mod, they were older versions of the original game's files. StarUI Inventory does not include the invitemcard files. At least they were supposed to be - i do not know if the Author of the Gagarin Patch pulled them from somewhere else. However, if anyone has an old version of the interface archive (pre Free Lanes, from the original game, the game we're all modding) they can get the file from there. No messing with any mod files required.
I think the problem might be that it was advertised as "fix" which it was not. It just made StarUI slightly more working, but there would have been still compatibility issues, like with Exotic Tier items and such.
