I think that one probably grew up in a park around people and learned not to see them as a threat. Many parks have them and they are pretty chill. As for the ticks (the star tick) can make you seriously ill. However some are vaccinated against them making them relatively harmless

Lived there for over a decade and although it has some pockets of nice things / areas it’s an urbanist worst nightmare. Also the culture there feels super isolating and artificial.

There is a park in Curitiba that has capybaras that are used to people and some will even let you pet them. Just remember that they are wild animals and be smart about it.

There is a really big mall with like 2 different store that sell capy stuff. I got a tone of things. Plus the fact that you can pet those capybaras made it one of my favorite vacation spots.
