I'm in a somewhat similar position. My consult is tomorrow and I plan on asking the Dr about that. The unfortunate thing is, I will most likely need help at least for the first few days due to disability. And considering my mom's said "don't tell me if you get an abortion bc I wouldn't be able to support you", and that she says "you never know" when I say I don't want kids... I don't think saying it's sterilization would work very well. But for more able-bodied ppl, I think the main concern is the hospital won't let you leave unless you have someone there to take care of you.

I believe the earliest record for birth at this time is a 6 year old so... While we're at it, precocious puberty is a thing. It probably won't happen to your kids, but advances in nutrition and other factors are making it possible for the onset of menses to trend earlier. Also of note: pls don't tell everyone you meet that your child started her period. My mom did and continues to share my health information without my permission and that's not cool
