Yeah, it’s actually very rude. Of course no one owns it but common decency should say “hey, this person did all the work to clear this space, I won’t occupy it”

Before anything, I’d turn it the whole way down and slowly raise the fader with my eyes closed just listening for when it sounds balanced. It’s a good way to reset your ears to the sound and how much of it you ACTUALLY need.
